Given our putrid center depth, I would consider it, but not for Schmaltz/Shattenkirk.
What would he cost?

We have a need at defense so that's kinda why we're wondering how much other teams defensive prospects are worth. In a perfect world Bozak helps with that need but for a rebuilding team like the Leafs, most young assets that would fit the rebuild would probably be enough (including draft picks).

Except offensive wingers, Leafs have enough of those.

Would something along the lines of

Bozak (50%) retained
Marincin or Hunwick

for

Joel Edmundson
Landon Ferraro
Vince Dunn
2017 2nd or 3rd (depending on the Yakipov conditions)

work for everyone invloved?

No. I wouldn't trade Dunn for Bozak strait up. Dunn has a very high ceiling and I wouldn't move him for a 3rd line center.

I wouldn't trade Joel e for him either. Tossing in junk dmen doesn't make it any more appealing.

I'd take a flyer on Tommy Vannelli in a conceivable trade. I know the guy had some injury troubles but was looking solid prior to that. Are you guys much attached?

X2 on Dunn but I wouldn't have a problem moving Edmundson.

We've got Lindbohm, Dunn and Walman in the pipeline. With a few vets that can fill in.

Maybe something in the ball park of Bozak for Vannelli + 2nd/3rd rounder depending on how the cap is taken into consideration.

I'd hop on that.

Am I the only one thinking Barbashev is being criminally underrated here? Dude is a solid two-way C with some solid offensive potential... He's at least as valuable as Kapanen (not far off anyways)

Ok, I wasn't sure how much you'd value Dunn. I knew he was high up in your orginization prospect rankings, just figure Bozak at 50% would be good value. I can understand why you'd be against trading him though

Its something I'd consider. Would have to do research into Lehtera before I pulled the trigger obviously.

Lehtera sucks.... hot start. Decent player but should be be viewed as Las Vegas bait. If Toronto wont have cap issues for awhile, then he would be a solid 3c. I'd say the Blues are looking to dump him. Would consider throwing in a little more value.

No, I'm right there with you. Frankly, I've never seen what the fuss is about Kapanen, but I may just need to watch him more to understand what others are seeing in him that I don't. This year should be a turning point for Barbashev as he got off to a good start in the AHL last year as a 19 year old before the game caught up with him. He's off to a good start this year as well but seems to be keeping the momentum. If he continues his solid play I could see him earning a call up sometime in the spring if needed.

Kapanen as a 96 born has 22 points in 23 games, so maybe that's the fuss? Lol.

I am a big fan of Barbashev though.

It's a widely know symptom of IhateallthingsLeafsitis. Any prospect is garbage, and roster player would be a bottom 6 player on said fans team at best etc.

Its ok you certainly arent the only one who falls victim to this disease

Barbashev is going to be a good player. Got to see him play plenty. He will be a solid NHL player in a couple years.
