It's an overpayment by Toronto, but all they care about is whether they win. This deal is a success if they win because of it. If they can't go deep in the playoffs, it's going to look terrible.

I can live with the ask, both guys are exactly what Toronto needs without mortgaging too much more of the future.

Key of course is how effective ROR is. If he's even close to what he's been capable of, for the first time under Dubas they have real depth in their forward group.

I do believe Dubas isn't done. He's got to get a reliable backup tender as Murray clearly cannot be relied on to stay (or even get) healthy.
