The leafs are competing now but are taking on a risky often injured player who can compete now.

Cowan is a safe bet for the future of the Buffalo Sabres.

He played well, regardless of whatever random metric you want to use like slap shots.

He had an abdominal muscle injury the latter part of the season, which also affects your shot.
It's not a random metric when talking about his shoulder. The poster I responded to claimed his shoulder was fine this year. Your shoulder is directly involved in taking a slap shot. He can't take slap shots anymore. He can still play hockey but his shoulder is not 100%.

You’re completely making shit up based on one metric. You literally don’t understand how logic works - not taking a slap shot doesn’t prove a bum shoulder.

Norris very clearly hasnt utilized his top offensive weapon, almost whatsoever, in over 2 years (since his last shoulder injury).

I will say that he was quite physically-engaged this year, whereas the previous year he looked extremely tentative. But I cant imagine that he wouldnt be using his slapper if he didnt feel either discomfort or anxiety regarding the shoulder holding up.

I dont think people saying it is “destroyed” or “shot” necessarily know what theyre talking about, and he may just need an offseason to continue to focus of strength and mobility before he is ready to start winding up and unloading again, but he knows his one-timer is his best asset offensively and he would use it every game if he felt he could.

As a Leafs fan I wouldn't take the Norris contract for free. His shoulder is cooked.
This is the correct answer. Great player when healthy, great teammate. But being a fan of a team that has him is anxiety inducing. Every time there is contact you hold your breath.
