I also wonder how often other people take in a random game at another arena. What you see on TV is typically the best game(s) of the night and you remember the abnormal.

I’ve been to many games in Montreal where you could hear a pin drop for the most part.
I believe the ones who complain the most don’t attend games.

No one goes to a hockey game in any city and screams the entire time.
Real fans go to the games, why would anyone pay those prices if they weren't fans and didn't want to be there?

I'm talking about privilege... and I think the whole... screaming the entire game is a huge exaggeration but good try.

if the Leafs need the fans to make the game exciting, then that's a bigger issue.

the fans don't make a game exciting, the team does (or is at least supposed to).

Then don't go to the game if it isn't exciting. Other people will buy the tickets.


I'll add this to make it clear... some of you bitching about the atmosphere at a game who go quite a bit clearly... but most average fans can't buy a ticket because they can't pay rent or a mortgage if they did... might want to think of that.

I work in a financial institution and find your facts most interesting, lol.

My previous job a year and a half ago was working on the sales team of a financial institution, editing the sales practices documents. I was part of a big 5 bank so maybe there's stricter regulation there.

Is it really that quiet though? The place is jacked for big games, but this is knowledgeable fan base that has been around the block. They’re not screaming their heads off Tuesday night in January against the Sharks just because, no, no they’re not. They’re watching the game. Gets loud as appropriate.

That’s always been the case. Noise level rises at the appropriate times, rest of the time people are discussing the game.

again, crowd doesn't determine quality of the game, the team does.

sorry your fixated on the crowd. and not once did I bitch about the atmosphere. it is difficult to keep up though. I guess that's one only some of us wear suits.
