Josh Anderson?

Big and fast, will play a physical game with pleasure, never take a shift off. He's a 40+ points player but he brings a lot more to the table than only points.

He's 28 and signed up until 2027 but given the age of Calgary's best players, it could fit I think. He's paid a hefty sum (5,5M$/year) tho

Nahh Anderson fits the core for the rebuild.
It would have to be a over payment

Looks like it might be Evan Rodrigues.

IMO E Rod isn't a top 6 fwd... at least not on the Flames
He's 29 with a career pts/gp of 0.40. Frankly that's 33 pts in a 82 game season. We already have players better than that.

Hoffman (30% retained) for free
He wouldn't last 4 weeks with the Flames. Sutter would kill him long before that. Also the Flames only have $2.136M in available cap space and $1M of that will go to sign center / RW Ruzicka who's a 23 year old RFA who played 28 games for the Flames last year

Pastranak locked up for 8 years 10m for

Dube Kylington Coronato 1st FLA 2015
They would never include either Dube or Kylington.

A package would look like;

Mangiapane or Hanifin + Coronato/Zary + 24/25’ 1st or Florida 25 1st (whichever pick is left by Montreal)

This is the package David Pastrnak will cost.

Yes he is absolutely worth Mangiapane plus a couple 1st round low end prospects.

The flames will not trade Kylington as he has Top2 potential and Tanev will push him there.

Would give the Flames a solid team capable of contending.

We do not need to add another overpaid player when the difference between Pelletier and Rodrigues type player is going to be 5 or less goals over an 82 game schedule.

The reason the flames salary cap does not work is they have almost no balance including entry level type contracts or league minimum vets.

They would definitely trade Kylington, especially for someone like Pastanak

Why do you think they are willing to let him walk for free in 2 yrs

He has some good skills but is weak and can’t defend when it’s tough.

Ideally I think the trade is

Zary
Coronato
Lucic
Valimaki
2nd 2023 or 2025 FLA 1st

It's a lot to give up but it makes the team incredibly deep

Huberdeau-Lindholm-Pastranak

Mangiapane-Kadri-Toffoli

Pelletier-Backlund-Coleman

Dube-Ruzicka-Rooney

Weegar-Tanev

Hanifin-Andersson

Zadorov-Kylington

I'm not sure Zary or Valimaki have a whole lot of value.

And Lucic probably has negative value.

So, for Pastrnak, the Bruins would get Coronato, and maybe a 1st three years down the road.

And they'd have to take back Lucic's deal?

I just find it hard to believe that would be the best offer on the table for a talent like Pastrnak.

Calgary isn't even waiting for former Canucks to be Canucks to try to lure them over! Rumours are all that's needed for Calgary to want to poach him!
The Flames don't have any Canucks draft pick on their roster.

Thats a lot for a rental no? Remove Lucic Coronato and make it a guaranteed 1st, then add Dube or Kylington for half retention and you have a deadline deal

I don't think the Flames are willing to trade Kylington unless Mackey really impresses at camp and pretty much steals his spot on the roster. Kylington can't defend unless he's paired with Tanev but he's probably the best skating defenseman on the Flames Blueline right now
