Flyers (bearing in mind our situation, taking the approach of 'who I would dislike to lose for nothing the most' and factoring in their worth in a trade in case of roster players, and how hard they would be to replace):

1. Claude Giroux
2. Jakub Voracek
3. Sean Couturier
4. Steve Mason
5. Wayne Simmonds
6. Travis Sanheim (WHL)
7. Samuel Morin (QMJHL)

Lecavalier, Umberger, Emery are left off from current roster as have no value. It would be better for us going forward to lose all three for nothing that have them. Even though Umberger has been ok in his role... the contract is awful.

Kind of a weird list... it would seem I am overvaluing 'two birds in a bush over one in hand' to some... but so much of the D is easily replaceable (outside of Streit and Coburn) and does not hold that much value, and I would hate to lose any of our top prospects, there is a lot of ability there.

I thought Morin was the top prospect? Personally I prefer Gostisbehere over both but I know I'm in the minority.

Doughty is firmly a top 5 Defenseman, Kopitar is somewhere around 15-20 for forwards, and he's younger.

I thought Morin was the top prospect? Personally I prefer Gostisbehere over both but I know I'm in the minority.

In my mind Sanheim has the most potential of all... the size, speed, skill and offence he possesses mean that if he hit his absolute ceiling he is an elite Dman.

I mean, I like Morin as well but I think Sanheims ceiling is higher.

It is pretty nice though for the Flyers to have 3 defensive prospects who could all be very, very good top 4 d men. And Hagg who has been pretty good in the AHL playing tough minutes and I think should end up a good NHLer.

Okay I'm gonna try it since none of us seems to be doing it. Based on current and future value. And if I'm honest, a little personal opinion, I know Ducks fans will disagree with some.

Ryan Getzlaf (NHL) indisputable. In my eyes he's behind only Selanne and Kariya all time.

Corey Perry (NHL) And following right behind him, Perry. Does so much and is still one of the West's best goal scorers.

Ryan Kesler (NHL) Not big on the scoresheet like his 2011 year but he does so much as the 2c

Hampus Lindholm (NHL) Number 1 defender potential. Already effectively our top pairing guy. His positioning is near elite.

Cam Fowler (NHL) Also has number 1 potential but seems to be second guessing himself lately.

John Gibson (AHL/NHL) At his best he can be a top 5 goalie. I believe at worst he'll be a good starter. Middle of the pack even

Frederik Andersen (NHL) Already proven he's a middle of the pack starter. He can be top 10 if he can find consistency in his dominance.

Matt Beleskey (NHL) Could be a bit high here, but he's improved dramatically.

Kyle Palmieri (NHL) Another remarkable improvement. Missed a lot of the year but is playing at a 50 point pace. Looks great with Kesler.

Sami Vatanen (NHL) Can be a pure offense machine for us on our blueline. Already one of the top producing defenders

Francois Beauchemin (NHL) Should start trending down soon but right now he's our other top pairing shutdown defender.

Andrew Cogliano (NHL) Off year compared to last year but still such a useful player. He'd go through a wall to help the team win.

Jakob Silfverberg (NHL) Still not producing the way we wanted but in my eyes he's our top defensive forward. Probably the best since Pahlsson.

Josh Manson (AHL/NHL) Justified to be this high, if he continues the way he's going he can replace Beauchemin without much issue. Showed a lot of promise in his stint this year.

Shea Theodore (WHL) Another OFD powerhouse...potentially. Want to see how he can do in the pros

Rikard Rakell (NHL) Showing a lot of promise offensively. Good hands. Creative. Good vision, and solid defensively. Basically Silfverberg

Ben Lovejoy (NHL) Ducks fans are being hard on him but I still think he's a very serviceable top 4 defender.

William Karlsson (AHL/NHL) Showed great upside in his stint. Has potential to be a solid 2c. Needs to refine his game.

Nick Ritchie (OHL) Shows a lot of promise but I have my doubts about how he'll do in the NHL. Top 6 scrappy upside.

Patrick Maroon (NHL could be higher given his hands and boardplay) (NHL)

Clayton Stoner (NHL) Actually quite solid defensively with the occasional gaffes, but not good enough to justify the contract Anaheim gave him

Nic Kerdiles (AHL) Personal bias here but I think he can top out as a good, tenacious second line winger. Playstyle reminds me of Kesler. Production in the AHL makes me nervous about his upside though.

Devante Smith-Pelly (NHL) Shows flashes of brilliance sometimes but fades into the woodwork more often than not.

Brandon Montour (NCAA) Impressed me everytime I watched him. But he may struggle with the young defenders in front of him

Nick Sorensen (SHL, QMJHL) Has decent upside. A bit injury prone. Struggle to see him make it.

Ilya Bryzgalov (NHL) Can probably steal a game or 2 or 3. But he's not the same player anymore

Nate Thompson (NHL) Good for PK and faceoffs but not much else IMO

Tim Jackman (NHL) One of our better fourth line wingers in recent years. Bit of a warrior but not much of a game changer.

Chris Wagner (AHL) Plays a solid, NHL ready game, but in his games here I didn't see much of what he'll contribute to the team in the future.

Igor Bobkov (AHL) May top out as a backup for some weaker teams but I don't see him being better than that. Promising physical build though.

Kevin Roy (NCAA) If not for his size I think I might rank him higher, especially given that Gaudreau proved it's not much of a factor. But still I have my doubts, but he's a dynamic offensive prospect.

Andy Welinski (struggle to see him making it to the NHL) (AHL)

Marcus Petterson (Allsvenskan, SHL, Superelit) (has promise but considering the depth chart, I don't see it)

Rene Bourque (NHL...he's useless)

Didn't rank Brewer or Robak. Haven't seen enough of them but they're both solid.

EDIT: Looks like I forgot Emerson Etem. I guess slot him behind Smith Pelly. I've all but given up on him. Strong in some areas but not in the ones he needs to be.

Cheers to you for doing it, so the rest of it can needle you for it.

Vatanen comes before Beleskey, in my mind. I haven't seen enough of Sorensen, but I don't think he'd come before Thompson.

As far as upside goes you're probably right. I just think the times he's still a defensive liability are still too much for me right now but he has his moments where he effectively neutralizes other players so it's not quite as grave as I may have just made it sound.

As for Sorensen I believe if he can find a good enough scoring touch he could be more valuable than Nate.
