Scoutman: Whats your thoughts on Linus Arnesson, and where do you have him on your list?

Craig Button ranked him as the 8th best player in this last Ivan Hlinka(Didnt have the chance to watch any games myself)

He also started the club team season of by posting 4 points (1+3) in his first game for Djurgårdens J18-team this season against HV71.

Any good Illinois players who have a shot of being drafted? I'd like to hear about this.

JT Compher - NTDP

smart, creative, two way playmaker. Hockey sense is off the charts.

Ryan Hutchinson - Kingston Frontenacs

Mean, physical defenseman. Kid looks like he is 35 at age 16. Already has the size, and has a pro calibre shot.

Anthony Louis - NTDP

kid is minuscule right now, but has gifted hands. Has the ability to make defenseman look stupid. If he fills out a little bit...........Patrick Kane.

Rasmus Ristolainen has a fair change to play with the pro team this year in Finlands top league. If he can handle it, it'd be mind bending. Playing D that young is much more difficult than play wing for example (as Granlund did).

Yep. He plays today against Ässät :yo:

6'3 feet and 203lbs for right shooting defenceman sounds not Finnish :)

Interesting he will most likely play two full seasons in SM-liiga before draft.

This is sort of a guide for players to watch in Sweden for this draft

2013 eligble that plays in Superelit:

Brynäs: Elias Lindholm (f, 1994)
Frölunda: Markus Söberg (f, 1995), Andreas Johnsson (f, 1994), Robin Söderkvist (f, 1994)
Färjestad: Wilhelm Westlund (d, 1995), Sebastian Bengtsson (f, 1994)
Huddinge: Jesper Frödén (f, 1994)
Leksand: Henrik Hjerpe (g, 1994), Jacob de la Rose (f, 1995)
Linköping: Leon Bristedt (f, 1995), Anton Blomberg (f,1995), Victor Crus-Rydberg (f, 1995), Nils Rygaard (f, 1995), Marcus Högberg (g, 1994)
Luleå: Wiliam Kaijser (d, 1994)
Malmö: André Burakovsky (f, 1995)
Modo: Gustav Backström (d, 1995), Robert Hägg (d, 1995), Victor Öhman (f, 1995), Gustav Possler (f, 1994), William Silfwerfeldt Öhman (g, 1995), Isak Edman (g, 1994)
Mora:Filip Bergmark (d, 1995), Albin Hernod (d, 1995)
Rögle: Anton Cederholm (d, 1995), Amil Krupic (d, 1995),
Skellefteå:Anton Lindholm (d, 1994), Lucas Wallmark (f, 1995)
Timrå: Erlend Lesund (d, 1994), Tommy Stenqvist (d, 1994)
Västerås: Flavio Schmutz (f, 1994)
Växjö: Daniel Norbe (d, 1995), Mikael Johansson (f, 1995)

Still theres plenty of good 2013-eligble that exclusively will play in the j-18 league this season. Some teams like to keep their players in that league a bit longer (especially Djurgården, suspect Brynäs and Skellefteå too).

all very worth players, but you are leaving off the most talented player from Illinois for this draft by a pretty wide margin...

Ryan Hartman - F - USNDP.

Hartman is from West Dundee Illinois and really is in another league when it comes to his overall talent. He already is the most gifted player for the U18 squad, and he is a late 94 making him 2013 eligible.

He will be headed to Miami Ohio, but it has been stated that Plymouth is going to push massively to land this gem in the OHL next year. Very high end offensive talent.

You can also talk about Gabe Guertler who is from Florida but did play with Compher on that Team Illinois squad....technically not from Illinois, but he did come through here so he is worth a mention.

Apparently Victoria's best d-man so far has been 2013 eligible (late 94') Kade Pilton...he's also 6'5''.

Anyone seen Kanzig this year? I see he listed at 6'5" and 229lbs now.

Keegan is playing his rookie year with Victoria Royals (nee Chilliwack Bruins). He has gotten into almost every game this season and is holding his own. Last I checked he was the best +/- d-man on the team but he is getting just under 10minutes a game. He had one AMAZING fight though - killed the guy (not literally). Check it out on youtube.

He will be going to the U-17 in Windsor almost assuredly.

I know that the Royals have recieved countless trade requests for Keegan - but for now they aren't biting.

If he continues to develop I can't see why he wouldn't be a top 10 NHL pick his draft year.

Nathan MacKinnon is the best 1995 prospect. Nuff said.

What about Barkov? I know it's early but he could be the highest drafted Finn of all time based purely on talent. I guess 1st overall being Euro is quite rare, tho.

Says the guy with a Halifax Moosehead avatar. Yeah, you're not biased at all. Lets talk after the World Hockey Challenge. Not saying he isn't, but you're severely underrating his competition.

Seth Jones might have something to say about the #1 overall spot. I still think MacKinnon right now is the #1 guy but he's no alone there.

Btw, swedish prospect Nick Sorensen is out for the year after a knee on knee hit tonight vs Baie-Comeau. at least thats what his coach Patrick Roy said after the game

Here's the hit.

No, I'm aware of his competition. But I'm not worried that MacKinnon won't live up to his expectations and become the best prospect for the 2013 draft. Even if Monahan is scoring at an insane pace in the OHL and that Lazar destroyed everybody at the CWG.

I don't really like Craig Button's rankings or anything concerning his judgement with prospects, but he did say that after seeing Seth Jones, that Jones has a long way before even being talked with MacKinnon.

Btw, it's awful what happened to Sorensen because he is also a strong candidate for top prospects for the 2013 draft. He has such bad luck with injuries.

you might say Lazar destroyed everyone at the CWG but he got to play too with Reinhart and Petan, both were amazing as well...giving the competition not just lazar to focus on....Mackinnon was really the only player to shut down on Nova Scotia and he still dominated as well being the only guy on the team for the other teams to shut down...speaking with Lazar before a game he told me he thinks Mackinnon is the best here but it is easy to try to shut him down becauses they can double and tripple team him and not have to worry about the others on the team
