Rom was a great character arc too. Yeah he was usually the "dumb one" for comedy episodes, but it was fun watching him climb out from under Quark's thumb and earn himself some respect and a good life after seeing Nog set the example for him.

I got to meet Aron Eisenberg in Vegas last month. One of the best conversations I had on that trip. He's such a great guy and I'm glad his Kidney transplant went well.

I wish we got more DS9 actors here in Calgary, the only ones we've had has been Rene Aubjernois(sp?). He was super nice, though I had a complete and utter nerd moment. I asked him how it was working with Ronald D Moore and how much contact he had with him, being that he was one of the principle writers for the show. It sounded like he didn't have much contact with him, but they got along well from what he said.

7 of 9.

That's all that.matters because she's a fox.

More important though, her introduction completely saved Voyager. While they probably introduced her for how she looks, Voyager was miles better from season 4 to 7 compared to season 1 to 3.

Her and the Doctor basically saved the back half of the show. The only thing that sucked was the needless and stupid where-the-****-did-that-come-from? Chakotay romance subplot.

(in fairness, I do know where it came from. Depending on who you believe, it was either the writers giving in to Robert Beltran's complaints about not doing anything of note by letting him make out with Jeri Ryan, or it was the writers giving Beltran the finger for being a whiny ***** by writing more scenes for him to share and interact with Ryan because it was known that he couldn't get along with her.)

Great thread with many different opinions and insights. For me my number one is Sisko. I just felt I could relate to him. He endured a lot of personal suffering, became a single Father. He had an elderly Father on earth that he worried about.a Had command of a powerful space station and bad ass star ship. He was a teacher, ambassador, prophet but above all else he was a Captain first. He was truly the definition of a leader that wasn't always comfortable in any of those positions. Sisko never even wanted to be the lead in most of those positions. A very complex man who wasn't afraid of his own limitations and soared past all of them with a strong steady hand and had a voice that emitted leadership. when he spoke weather it be by command or to put an arm around someone to comfort them you just knew it was going to be all right.Sisko was easy to like and to root for. He was the Mark Messier of space.

DS9 GOAT.

Ensign Ro was another favourite of mine. One of the few good female characters on TNG. Didn't like any of Crusher, Troi and her mother, Dr Polaski, Tasha, or Guinan.

A lot of you put out great lists. I just want to echo the love for Garak.

He was such an interesting character because his "ends justify the means" outlook juxtaposes itself well with the typical Star Trek characters more morally absolute outlook.

We see Garak's best work in "In the Pale Moonlight". He helps push Sisko to make some really tough decisions in the interest of saving the Federation and the Klingon Empire.

One of the best Garak moments imo:

Still one of the best episodes of the entire franchise in my opinion. The dynamic between Garak and Sisko is incredible, and they both do amazing work in that episode.

What the hell kind of thread is this? Disgraceful stuff. How many lists and not a single Weyoun. There were at least eight of them ffs!

1 Weyoun:

2 Garak

In no particular order:

Quark
Dukat
Damar
The Founder (female one)
Gowron
Brunt
Shran
Borg Queen

Seriously, no Weyoun. ****ing Millennials.

I like Weyoun, he's a great character, but left him out of my top 10 because there are so many great characters to choose from.

It's pretty amazing how one show had the 3 best villains in the entire franchise (I'm not really a Khan fanatic). I think Weyoun and Winn and obviously Dukat were more interesting, all for different reasons. Dukat and Scorpius GOAT scifi villains

I think the Wrath of Khan version of Khan is one of the best, as he's a different person from years of exile compared to the man he was in Space Seed. I agree that Dukat, Weyoun, and Winn were all great villains though, and it's impressive they are all in DS9.

Dumar is another great DS9 character that I don't think has been mentioned. I love his story arc in the show.

He's more of an anti hero a lot of the time. Even before he switches sides he has that hatred for the Dominion that you know would eventually boil over. He was also a true Carpathian patriot and he wasn't going to let anything stand in the way of that.

Great character overall.
