Depends on how much you value defense vs offense. Gio has been the best all around this year and burns production outweighs his defense, so I would slot him 3rd. He produces pretty well on offense, while being better on defense than most of the list. As for McD idk who he should bump off, as I didn’t realize till now you were only doing 4 HM’s.

That is a coherent argument for Hedman, but I don't think his defense is so many miles above Letang or Rielly that it makes up for the very large gap in offensive production between them this year and Josi is also a great two-way defender in addition to his solid production this season (although obviously, this is just for this year; Hedman definitely looks like he will end up being the guy with the most Illustrious career on this whole list with the exception of Erik Karlsson).

And yeah, i try to limit it to 4 HMs (and even having that feels like cheating), because I want there to be some debate and some tough choices, otherwise could just list all the good players in the NHL.

I know you explained your reasoning, but I really disagree with Draisaitl being rated among the centres. Put him sixth among wingers, put Scheifele at 9, and slide the other centres up.

In that case, he shouldn’t be in the top-10. His performance as a center is not anywhere near the players who are in that top-10.

Everyone on that the top wingers list have their stats improved by playing with other elite players. Draisaitl was the 3rd best winger this year behind Kucherov and Kane (and you can debate him and Kane). There's no debate to him being lower than 3. Stop with the McDavid factor bs. He's an elite players in his own right!

He could very easily be debated behind Marchand.

There's nothing wrong with putting any of those 10 wingers ahead of Draisaitl. He may not be carried by McDavid but you can't play with the best player in the world and not have your stats padded quite a bit.
