I’ll throw out one of goalies for possible consideration and that’s Yevgeni Volokin. He’s putting up some decent numbers in the KHL at 19. A GAA: 3.17 and a SV%: .908.

At 19 I think it is
Of the 15 qualifying U20 seasons, it's 10th.

Basically all the guys that made the NHL or are regarded currently as players likely to reach the NHL are ahead of him. Only one of those anyone would've heard of below him is Kolosov, who is like a disastrous NHL level player (not really one as the Flyers have terrible NHL goaltending depth).

Since this thread is from last year, who all has graduated from prospect to NHLer and what are people’s updated lists?
Wolf is probably the leading candidate to be graduated. One of the older prospects in the conversation and has become a genuine starter and Calder candidate so far.

Also, reading this thread back, everyone arguing over Wallstedt vs Askorov for #1 demonstrates how undervalued he still was. It's still wild to me so many doubted him despite his insane resume.

At least he wasn’t last, lol

Goalies should be grouped by stage of their development. Or by age. Hard to compare 24-year rookie in NHL to recently drafted netminder still in juniors.

Group I: Young Pros

1. Askorov (SJS)
2. Dostal (ANA)
3. Wolf (CGY)
4. Knight (FLA)
5. Wallstadt (MIN)
6. Levi (BUF)
7. Hofer (STL)
8. Dobes (MTL)
9. Schmid (VGK)
10. Silovs (VAN)

Group II: 20+ prospects outside NHL

1. Cossa (DET)
2. Murashov (PIT)
3. Merilainen (OTT)
4. Commesso (CHI)
5. Portillo (LAK)
6. Gajan (CHI)
7. Nabokov (COL)
8. Kolosov (PHI)
9. Ivanov (CBJ)
10. Sogaard (OTT)
11. Divincentiis (WPG)
12. Hildeby (TOR)
13. Bussi (BOS)
14. Perets (CAR)
15. Sergeyev (CGY)
16. Chrona (NSH)

Group III: 18-19 year olds

1. Fowler (MTL)
2. Yegeorv (NJD)
3. Zavragin (PHI)
4. Augustine (DET)
5. Hrabal (UTA)
6. Moysevich (VGK)
7. George (LAK)
8. Slukynsky (LAK)
9. Gildof (NYI)
10. Clara (ANA)
11. Gardner (CBJ)

I'm sure others can improve upon my groupings... and my rankings. But generally, I like seeing them split a bit by stage of development.

Don't see any mention of Slukynsky. The stat line is crazy
21-2, 1.85. .916
He has consistently been excellent the past 3 years -- high school, international, now the USHL. The only blemish would be a below-average WJAC-19. He isn't one of the large goalies, but he isn't undersized. Maybe he won't keep it up, but should at least get considered.
Now one of the best NCAA goalies (admittedly splitting games). I would have him second to Fowler in the under 20 grouping.

I can't complain just because of the overall effort put into it, but if there's an immediate standout, it's Cossa and Wallstedt being in different groups. Same draft year and both in the AHL the last two seasons, just Wallstedt has 5 NHL games to Cossa's 1.

Great list, I would definitely add Murashov on that list. I think many people are sleeping on him.

So concensus is Cossa is still very highly rated? Higher than Nabokov? I understand of course it's hard to make exact comparisons.

Decent list for sure. Group II missing Carl Lindbom. Slowly trending up gping under the radar

He had to adjust after last season where he played all the time in the MHL to getting bounced around early this season between VHL, KHL and MHL. He barely played for about 7 weeks where he struggled but since 12-18-24 he's been getting much more consistent TOI and since then has stopped 413 of 450 shots, good for a .917 save %.

That’s great to hear. Love watching the videos you put out on YouTube about all of our prospects. I truly appreciate it

Wolf is the best young goalie in the world. Askarov hasn’t ever really been close to him in terms of performance. Dostal is having a great year but Wolf’s career prior to this season was vastly more impressive.

Inside the NHL Rank King app, here are the current top goalie prospects.
The rankings are created based on user selections inside the comparison game "Who'd You Rather?" (two players are compared and the user selects whom they believe is the best option).

Keep in mind it's from a fantasy perspective, but there probably isn't much difference with real world value with goalie prospects at this point in time.

If I remember correctly, the cut-off is 40 NHL games played and must be less than 25 years old.

1 Yaroslav Askarov
2 Sebastian Cossa
3 Jesper Wallstedt
4 Jacob Fowler
5 Ilya Nabokov
6 Devon Levi
7 Trey Augustine
8 Hampton Slukynsky
9 Michael Hrabal
10 Dennis Hildeby
11 Erik Portillo
12 Leevi Merilainen
13 Jakub Dobes
14 Jet Greaves
15 Joel Blomqvist
16 Carson Bjarnason
17 Niklas Kokko
18 Carter George
19 Justus Annunen
20 Artus Silovs
21 Drew Commesso
22 Mads Sogaard
23 Artur Akhtyamov
24 Mikhail Yegorov
25 Yegor Zavragin
26 Domenic DiVincentiis
27 Carl Lindbom
28 Dylan Garand
29 Sergey Murashov
30 Evan Gardner
31 Topias Leinonen
32 Aleksei Kolosov
33 Sergei Ivanov
34 Dmitry Gamzin
35 Magnus Chrona
36 Adam Gajan
37 Olivier Rodrigue
38 Calle Clang
39 Damian Clara
40 Scott Ratzlaff
41 Yegor Yegorov
42 Pavel Moysevich
43 Thomas Milic
44 Nikita Tolopilo
45 Isaiah Saville

If you are so inclined, you can download the app to play "Who'd You Rather?" and contribute to the overall rankings.
Out of all the different rankings that are offered in the app, the goalie prospects gets the least amount of attention, so things are probably not as they seem.

No love for Semyon Vyazovoy? Save % of .935 in the KHL and .933 in the VHL?
