I'm surprised Clara didn't make your U20 list. What he is doing as an 18/19 year old in a mens league is truly noteworthy. And at 6'5" he has the size to be a #1 NHL goalie.
As a Brynäs fan, I can vouch for that Clara is absolutely fantastic.
Love that you just snuck your teams prospect in there. In no world is this 5’10 goalie one of the best prospects.
He's 180 cm, or 5'11'', of comparable height to a certain Juuse Saros. He has also posted fantastic numbers wherever he has played. He had a 0.928 SV% playing for a bottom feeder in the KHL. Even considering I'm a CBJ fan, I'd say it's a bit rich saying that there is no way he is not one of the best goalie prospects out there.

How far off is suchanek , 20 year old in ahl

18 games 11-4-3, with a 2.33 gaa and .928, had strong international play last year.

Seems pretty under the radar but having a very impressive season in San Diego, better than dostal

Suchanek had a great world juniors run and is posting a .928 so far in the AHL.

How does he not have an NHL contract?

I really don't know much about goalie prospects so it's possible there is a good reason, I just don't know it.
He's not 6'6 is my guess and, I'm guessing, scouts don't think his skills and size will transfer to NHL. But how he wasn't worth a 7th rounder is crazy to me.

One of those examples where it ended up being better off for him not getting drafted. Now he can pick the ideal situation for himself.
Based on Szturc.. I am assuming Anaheim signs him. Eg. Szturc went to the lightning camp and just got a contract yesterday. Time will tell.

I only went with players where an NHL holds their rights. I also didn’t include goalies I consider NHL goalies.

If a team does sign him, he’d be right there fighting in the teens, most likely bumping Fowler off the list.

I don’t really consider Kochetkov a prospect anymore.

1. Askarov
2. Hofer
3. Levi
4. Wolf
5. Wallstedt
6. Augustine
7. Hrabal
8. Cossa
9. Daws
10. Kokko

That’s a basic crack at the prompt. I’m sure there is somebody I’m missing and I’m sure there will be some level of disagreement. I’m very high on Trey Augustine obviously and success at the NHL level goes a long way with me.

Both Wolf and Levi are being punished on peoples lists for being young guys who got their cup of tea while being not quite ready for extended NHL stints. Especially for Wolf, no other goalie on this list has come anywhere close to his pre NHL accomplishments.

2019/20 -WHL: .935%, 1.88 GAA, CHL GOTY
2020/21 -WHL: .940%, 1.80 GAA, WHL GOTY
2021/22 -AHL: .924%, 2.35 GAA, AHL GOTY
2022/23 -AHL: .932%, 2.09 GAA, AHL MVP
2023/24 -AHL: .924%, 2.39 GAA

This last season is on a not overly great AHL team. Most goalies named maybe have one season that compares to any of Wolf’s years, definitely not 2-3 consecutive years.

Wolf and Levi are my favorites but I haven't seen enough of those other goalies to really put them in order.

One dark horse pick is Henrik Tikkanen who was bit of a project pick by Isles in 2020. Right now playing with AHL contract in Bridgeport and with small sample size is looking promising at the AHL level this season. Interesting to see if he can be consistent

Blomqvist has almost identical stats to askarov yet most don't even have him top ten. Thats interesting.

Yeah he's being underrated in here for sure. He's got by far the best resume of any goalie prospect and is far down on many lists in this thread. Like how can people even argue that Cossa is a better prospect than him lol.

Wallstedt is mid.

In that he plays a pretty predictable, boring game. But he's the best goaltending prospect in the world right now imo

To me that's the marker of an elite goaltender. If he looks boring and predictable it means he's always in excellent position and not giving up much in terms of bad goals.

If he was "flashy" it means he's scrambling and often out of position.

I bet a team like the Devils would love a "boring goalie" right now.
