Gotta say this tho..

I am happy I am moving away from Denmark with the wife.
Winters here are depressing some years, and usually hockey makes up for that.

With the abysmal state of the Jets lately, this winter has been especially hard.

No snow, no real arctic blue skies, just damp rain and grey low lying clouds for 3 months straight...

ugh...

What? I thought you were Dutch, like Ehlers.

Nope, I am as Canadian as they get.

born and raised - Danish mother, but even she is pretty Canadian, as she has lived in Canada since she was an exchange student and met my very Canadian father many moons ago.

I moved to Denmark, because as fate would have it, I met a Danish woman in College and fell in love with her.

55 and 26... Hate to say it... One needs to go to send a message however their OT selfishness is likely a result of knowing Maurice will be in the back ready to verbally jerk em off regardless of what they do. Last night was a prime example of what years of zero accountability for lazy vets gets you.

I agree.
When one gets to a comfort level and has the backing of their boss you can surely expect performance to slip over time.
There’s needs to be a compelling factor or incentive to push further than you thought you could.
This is the reason I think Mo needs to move on.
The vets have no worries as Mo has their back no matter what.
The younger players do not have the same luxuries.
Some get benched, the vets get the empty net time , they start every OT
We desperately need a new message or expect much of the same blah play over the next few seasons if Mo gets extended.... if he does what will change exactly???

Attendance, I hope. Right now, I think this culture of entitlement goes right to the top. Real change won't happen until Chipman starts feeling a pain in the assets.

Lol, I honestly don't know what to think anymore! Have you seen HIM pass? His 'man passes'? :)

I don't have the answer, but I find it incredibly hard to believe that he can't handle a hard pass all of a sudden.

Again, I don't know what to think.

It's entirely possible that Laine doesn't like the angle the pass from the point provides -
He may want them to come in slower so that he can get his stance right for the angle.
Squaring up to a seam pass is a lot different than working out the angle from the point pass.

This needs to be at least considered - I really can't see why he would continue to take a pass he doesn't like without asking for a correction.
And there is no way in the world these d men can't add a little zip to the pass if requested - they are pro's

I get why people defend Maurice as he seems like a genuine guy.
I’m just not sure what would change scheme wise or system wise if he stayed.
Too much familiarity might be our worst enemy

Haven’t seen a Jet go to the net like he did last night in ages. Liked his game against the Preds, hope he keeps it up.

I agree --I was impressed by the way he charged the net, and showed no fear. We need more guys like that. I think Appleton will be a winner for the Jets.

Good plan. It's not like we really need a good top 6 centre in the pipeline yet.

Yes --I see your point, and maybe we could draft a couple centers as well, but not until the 2nd round. We need defenseman - big ones, that can skate and shoot --like the kind we've lost.

If anybody want's to watch the O/T again. Well, except for the face-off where Scheifele broke his stick.

Scheif should have gone for a change at 4:18, at the same time that the Preds player did. Instead he just coasts around and ends up being gassed at the point when the Preds have got 2 fresh players on the ice. It’s just selfish behaviour and Chef&Wheeler are the worst at it.

Beating up Morrissey is the emotional, knee jerk reaction but another pathetic display by the PP, Laine missing a PS and the rest of the team thinking the net was 2 feet wider and 3 feet taller is what did them in. Yeah, Bitetto and Sbisa were a keystone cops pairing but the bug guns fired blanks again and Helle was the only top end player who came through for the team.

A 2-1 loss in OT is not the fault of the bottom pairing D or your top pairing guy making a poor decision at 3v3.

I don’t see the logic in this reasoning. Our guys were going toe to toe with the Preds and the teams were even when going into OT, so that’s a good thing in my books. The other team gets paid too, you know? The OT was pathetic though, it really was the low point of the game when Chef hustled to get a new stick and then went coasting until Morrissey gave the puck away with a boneheaded play, while Wheeler looked like he’s never played defense before in his life. It was embarrassing.

Well it’s all Dutch to me! You are half Dutch, if you and your Dutch women have kids they will be 3/4 Dutch!:D
