Value of: Tony Deangelo's Next Contract

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Originally I wanted a small deal of a million for one year after the first week but now I think it’s a 2 year deal for like 3 million.

A 52 point pace on a team that is the 2nd lowest scoring team in the conference ain't too shabby.

He wouldn't be a bad option for a bottom pairing guy on an offensively starved team.

I think the most important question is....do they need him? Are the isles rebuilding, or are they wanting to be playoff competitive?

Is the guy blocking some young defenseman from being able to get minutes with the big club? You gotta answer that before even considering to re-sign him.

Isles have virtually no right side depth. Assume Dobson, Pulock and Mayfield are the 3 "starters" that leave Tony D and Boqvist. Roy seems to like both these guys. I could see Tony D coming back to Isles at $2mil for 1-2 years.

Someone's going to give him a couple years.
If he's matured as an adult, you can't keep faulting the guy for being a piece of shit when he was a teenager.

TDA and Boqvist give Roy a more mobile back end that fits into his playstyle. The only one who’s close to that is Dobson but he was hesitant to skate the puck at all until the past 5 games or so. Plus Boqvist gives them an Anders Myrvold/Thomas Hickey element of a defender who can play forward as well.
