I thought Vinny was our best. If Thornton had of been given less defensive responsibilities he could of really dominated tonite. Excellent. Brewer would rate a B for the stone hands he shows to get himself and teamamates in trouble as well as the lack of ability to read the coverage and keep the puck in the offensive zone. He gets the B rating for jumping in the play and scoring a damn big goal. It was a solid effort from Canada and a very solid game from the Czechs. Talented, smart, coachable- gutsy. Czechs almost came here and won it.

It will never end. The guy could play the perfect game and still get critisized for an untimely icing call. Im surprised Team Canada Management didn't have him shot for tonight's performance the way you so accurately describe his play.

I watched the game, Brewer played Ok but i pointed out things he could do better as a rebuttal for what someone said was an "A" game. It was not an "A" game from Brewer.

Considering how much the Czechs dominated for a large part of the game, I'm shocked the lowest grade any player received was b-minus.

Thornton deserved at least an A, I watched him closely and he played a flawless, aggressive checking game, helping to shut down Jagr and setting up 2 goals.

In your opinion.
Obviously, NOT the opinion of Burke, Hrudey, the sportswriter who has been compiling these "report cards" after each game, and many others, who are paid to write their opinions during this tournament.

Personally, I thought that all the D had it harder tonite.
The forwards weren't giving the same level of puck support they have in past games.
It's a lot tougher to clear the zone, when your outlet isn't there.

My opinion of the D -
Brew and JBo had the coolest feet on the ice.
Even amidst the onslaughts, they stayed in the flow.
Foote was his usual, effective, self.
At times, Nieds looked like he was over-compensating, maybe trying to anticipate Regehr's moves.
At times, Regehr looked like he was over-thinking, and would get out of sinc with the flow.
Probably, because the forwards were out of position.
Hannan looked nervous, but then, settled back down in the 3rd.

Where were Richards and St. Louis tonight?

Regehr played his weakest game of the tournament tonight. Not only was he victimized on the 3rd Czech goal by trying to stick check the guy, but he made 3 or 4 bad decisions when it came to pinching against the speedy Czech forwards.

However, I'll be happy to have his physical play against the bigger, stronger Finns.

Ya, truely amazing. Brewer still doesn't get credit for being Canada's best blueliner tonight - there is no doubt that he was their most effective and had the biggest positive impact.

I don't think that Brewer had a good game. Many times when he and Foote were on the ice, we were running around without purpose and were getting pelted with scoring chances...and I believe that Brewer was directly or indirectly reponsible for at least one goal against.

People tend to see what they want to see. In a crucial, tight game like this one, folks can either see brilliance at both ends of the ice, or horrid "mistakes". The mistakes tend to be more good play on the other team's behalf, but it matters little when people are out to carve an opinion of their choice.

Its tough to find fault in a player when his team wins 5-0. Its easy when the opposition actually puts up a fight.

Brewer Bowmester Thorton Draper Heatly Foote were the only ones that actually had a good game. The rest can and will do better for next game. People think brewer was running around when he and foote were in their own zone. They don't realise they were keeping the czech forwards to the outside and not leting them get into the middle for chances it may not look like they are doing their jobs because the other team has the puck in our zone but they are
