People are like "Just keep going Dubas!" and I find that unbelievable.

Dubas has absolutely destroyed this roster in record time. It's actually insane
He's made some awful moves but to be fair we knew this team was close to cratering. That it happened maybe a year or two earlier than expected is not the worst thing considering the talent available in the next few drafts. He's ultimately going to be judged for the rebuild and on that side he's doing ok so far.

The problem is a team like this should be selling more and using more cheap options like Puljujarvi, Puustinen, Glass, Poulin, Gruden, Ponomarev, etc. But instead the coach prioritizes using as many vets as possible. So Tomasino comes in and is already f***ed in that regard. Especially with a coach that can't develop for shit.

Meanwhile the two in Nashville he played for, actually did develop youth and their issue with him was work ethic. Sullivan is even worse for chances.

If Pens have a top 10 or better pick pre-lottery, this year, that is the start of getting the higher end talent to begin the transition to a new coach and younger players in the lineup. Sullivan lost the team years ago as to message so keep him and then fire him this off season. Pens need a change in style and emphasis as to play on the ice.

Tanking should be a controlled free fall with a parachute, not a drunken stumble off the observation deck at the Sears Tower.

When was the last time we did that, though? I thought we were better at that before we let Martin and Gonchar go.
I guess it had been awhile since Schultz and Daley.

Pettersson maybe??? I mean he struggled big time for 2 years.

Usually recovering D has to have them play a game that suites their strengths. It’s very possible that Sully has gotten so rigid that he doesn’t do that anymore.

Pettersson took a while. He was getting scratched a couple years after he arrived, and they didn't trust him on the PK for a while.

He was also quite young, though.

I’m a little disappointed that we haven’t managed to sort out Graves nor Gryz. Usually we are great at recovering D.
We are, but they're a little bit older than the D we successfully recovered. There seems to be an upper age limit as to whether or not a player is fixable. This was true even when we had Martin and Gonchar as coaches.

I missed the first period last night but he looked mostly decent. Maybe I'm wrong or misremembering but it looked like he had a tendency to do east-to-west plays/movement which is kinda a no-no on this team.
