When was that posted and when was Toffoli notified? The hearing was to start at 1:00 p.m. (I assume EST), or about an hour and a half ago. If he was recalled before that, likely either precautionary or for another reason. If after it started, likely not a good omen for Brown.
Brown suspension could've gone either way. At least Toffoli would replace the idea of having Clifford/Nolan on the 2nd line

Either he gets suspended or a slap on the wrist, that's what I meant. I mean, he's gotta be suspended now that we called up Toffoli. Unless its an emergency deal and they're just playing it safe...

Well Dwight king and penner are useless so there's another reason why he might have been called up

I think he'll fit well on the 1st line and is a shooter like Carter, someone Kopi and Williams can dish to.
He'll be pumped up and that might be good for the rest of the team.

I actually like the idea of Toffoli on the 1st line even better than the 2nd line.
Swapping Toffoli in for Penner leaves the 2nd line lacking on the forecheck and boards, and puts 2 straight-up shooters on the same line. The 1st line, though, things end up a bit more well-balanced. Swapping Toffoli in for Brown gives the 1st line a real sniper and, although Toffoli isn't a hitter like Dustin, J-Willie is good on the forecheck and Kopi is excellent along the boards so they should still be able to have some OZone possession time. Not only that, both of Toffoli's linemates are assist machines.
Even when Brown comes back I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea to leave Toffoli where he is, stick Brown in Penner's place, and put Penner in King's spot on the 3rd line. I guess we'll see how it goes!

Well luckily the flight from Manchester to Detroit is not that far.
Imagine the Kings would have played @ home.
I'm not a fan of this treatment at all.
LA Kings, healthy scratch while Monarchs were in a playoff race, sent down, recalled...pff.

When he was called up Sutter said it was just in case because of the stretch of games we had.
He got some play which was good.
This is a typical team move and there is nothing wrong with it.

I'm sure TT is fine with it. That doesnt mean its the right thing and that we wont see a fatigued player. Penner is fine with 2nd line minutes too, many arent.
That's your opinion. Sutter can say so many things. I dont think its 'typical'. From healthy scratch to Manchester, to 1st line. This behaviour belongs to the Jackets, not the Kings.

But what don't you see as a typical team move? We had a stretch of 17 games in 31 days. And our AHL team is across the country. So an emergency recall can take a full day in many instances, depending on the time it happens. We have a free roster spot with that schedule. So you call up the most deserving player just in case you need them.
They actually cracked the line up for a few games, getting valuable experience. The really tough stretch is over so you send them back down where they can play more consistently. You now lose a top 6 forward for 2 games. So you call them back up. Seems quite normal to me.

At least my opinion had any room for discussion. That was the difference. I already said I'm glad we are playing vs Detroit. I was never a fan of his first call-up anyway, but at least he played. When he became a healthy scratch it became annoying (I dont believe in that practice nonsense). Toffoli is the Kings best prospect but I doubt the outcome of those games would have been any different with a player like Kozun.

The point isn't just the outcome of the games, the point is to develop the Kings best prospect. And yeah, he was a healthy scratch for a while, but I do think that working/practicing with and playing against actual NHL players under his eventual NHL coach will teach him more than spending a handful of games in Manchester doing what he has already been doing for the past couple years. I know you don't believe in that "practice nonsense" but, suffice to say, I think you're way wrong on that. Games aren't the only important thing -- they may not even be the best learning tool depending on who your opposition is.

Lombardi has already said how important it is for players like Tyler; to come to LA and see how hard players like Stoll work.
