Toews officially retires from the NHL

Absolute happy trails to the best captain in Blackhawks history. Wish he could've retired playing his entire year with us, but damn glad that it seems like he was able to go out on his own terms and happy after a year up in Winnipeg.

Only a matter of time before we see #19 lifted to the banners and Toews's mug in the Hall of Fame.

Really happy for him that he was able to recover from his health issues and despite a two year break from the best hockey league in the world, bring his conditioning back up to par and play a full 82. Seems like a nice feather in the cap for his HoF career.

Was my favorite player. His style of play and the tone he set, just the epitome of what you'd hope for in a captain and first line center.

Going to look forward to his inevitable UC return.

I wish he would have made his retire PC in Chicago but if he had to do it, being home in Winnipeg is a solid secondary option.

The Winnipeg game at the UC this season will be must attend when he’s honored. I just hope it doesn’t fall within my October vacation.

The jersey retirement after he’s elected to the HOF will be too.
