I'm rooting for him, but I have my doubts. one thing is for sure, you know Toews is gonna give it his all
Bring Toews and Kane back, put them on our 3rd line, it hurts nothing. Cautiously optimistic for a Toews return, if he wants to keep playing then I hope he can. He just looked completely gassed when I saw him live, which I think was his 2nd to last game that he played.
Toews would not be the first player to take a few years off and return, but at 37 the odds are against him. It is one thing to practice and feel good, it is quite another once the game is on. I'll be cheering for him though. I agree that Colorado and Toronto might show interest. Can’t imagine him playing more than half a season if he even makes an opening night roster. I’d love to see it though. It would be a feat to even get his stamina to an adequate NHL level based off his final season. Luckily for him he doesn’t have a physical injury history besides the knee from his rookie year to hold him back.
It rarely, if ever does in a sport like hockey. There is literally nothing that can really prepare you for playing this sport other than being on the ice. I only had 6 months off recently for a knee injury and I'm still not anywhere near where I should be after 6 months on the ice 2-4 nights a week.Who knows, maybe the years off can actually work in his favour. Id love to see him in the playoffs in some capacity one more time
Who cares if he's done? It won't change anything about what he did.It rarely, if ever does in a sport like hockey. I'm rooting for him, but I'm not excited to see what happens if he comes back and just can't hack it, and looks awful. Like... you have a ton of money man. You're 37. Just enjoy the rest of your life, start a business, relax, and be happy and satisfied with your HoF career.
