B+ maybe A-

Outside of Babcock or Hitch I'd keep him for next year. The guys seem to be buying into his system

Some guys are ready to crown him Coach for the next decade. He's been better than Eakins(who wouldn't be?). I didn't like how he was given the interim job but he seems okay. Still not sure if I want him back next season or not.

C+ maybe :dunno:

C+ because he wasn't what you wanted and not the body of work thus far?

Team has been night and day from where it was. B minimum.

If he keeps up this pace, he'll be back. If they collapse, he probably won't. They should never have let Kruger go.

One year came and went for the Oilers and another season - with additional "good Corsi" players added to the roster like Nikita 'Scott Hatteberg' Nikitin - was even worse than year one.

Dellow panned the Nikitin signing when it happened. The rest of your post is highly disconcerting.

The fact that he turned this team around so quickly, has the players playing for each other, has the players playing a solid 60 minutes, and is holding players accountable make me want him back next year.

The additional fact that this poor depth team is .500 under him that included injuries to Hall and Pouliot (leaving our LW side destitute) is nothing short of amazing.

The Oilers seem to be competitive almost every night and that's not something I've been able to say for a very VERY long time.

Edit: Just in case I wasn't perfectly clear, I wanted Nelson up prior to the Eakins signing and I want him to stay here even more now that there's a somewhat decent sample size.

Cause he's a bust

Clearly you haven't been watching him perform under Nelson. If he continues the way he's playing now he'll be far from a post. He's been one of our strongest assets the last handful of games and you can see his confidence shaping up significantly.

Fun stat, Eakins never won a game with Scrivens or Fasth with .900 or below goaltending. We've done it 4 times now under Nelson. Seems Eakins lived and died by the goalie taking over the game while the rest of the team just ran around getting dominated every other way.

It was fun for the Oilers to blame goaltending for all their problems under Eakins, but seems to me that the only way we ever won games was because of the goalie taking over the game (In 13/14, Scrivens typically had .940 sav% or better in his wins) The team could never win when our goalies had a below average night. Sometimes, you need you need the other 18 guys to put in the effort to win a game. Unfortunately, all the effort was spend trying to rack up corsi's with poor shot selections.
