I was lucky enough to have tickets for that game and it's the best moment I have experienced live seeing the Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.

Couldn't ask for a better set of circumstances to earn your 500th except maybe it against the Sens in the playoffs.

Mats was a player I always loved, but never fully appreciated until he was no longer a Leaf. I think I was not alone on that either. He never played the rough and tough style of a Tucker, Gilmour, Wendel and was often criticized for it. But this guy was an absolute warrior. I will say, him leaving and seeing the void he left our club with has changed the way I look at Leaf players. Appreciate the greatness as it happens instead of demanding for more. HBD to the greatest Leaf of all time. Although it is likely a title you will not hold very long (AM34)

It's kind of funny how Dion Phaneuf was on the ice for Sundin's 500th goal because at that time who would have guessed the Leafs would trade for him 3 years later and he would be the next Leafs captain after Sundin.
