He's an above average coach when it comes to systems/defensive structure but a pretty terrible one when it comes to creating offense and driving play. Doesn't ever use his time outs and needs to take some blame for letting the Petey/Miller fiasco fester for as long as it did.

Wouldn't mind if we moved on from him.

High probability he won’t be be back, it seems like he’s trying to wrap his around if he still wants to coach this roster after losing a player he connects most with. I wouldn’t be surprised if he decided to coach in the states again with a ton of new openings. Drury is salivating at the thought of Toch coaching Millet/Trocheck.

I don't think he's a top 5 coach in the league, but I do think he's a solid coach. He has his flaws but so does pretty much any coach who isn't in the elite tier.

I feel like his cautious system + getting players to buy-in does raise a team's floor, but at the same time I feel like players overthink offensively and default too much to the point shot with traffic because they're afraid of making a play that might not work and will lead to a loss of possession.

If you are suggesting Keller getting away from Tocchet is the reason for his emergence, are you also suggesting Tocchet is the reason for the rise to super stardom for guys like Hughes, Miller and Stamkos?

And what they are looking for from Pettersson is what guys like Datsyuk, Crosby, Kopitar, Bergeron, Toews, Barkov, etc. gave the teams they led. It doesn't necessarily mean Selke level two-way game, it means championship level commitment on and off the ice that is expected based on his salary and role.

I think Pettersson is traded at some point as well, he wasn’t even part of the first group for the press conference which is usually the core group of players. What Pettersson did is extremely selfish, sign a massive contract then started being a bitch. Tocchett alluded to this as well that players need to put the crest above themselves.

Allvin has prob lost sleep over not trading Pettersson for Necas before Pettersson committed to signing a contract. It would be a huge blow to lose Tocchet and his staff.

I'm able to put up with the Benning era, but if they hire Quenville I really think I would stop being a fan of the team, at least until JQ is gone. I don't think I can cheer for the team with him as the HC.

The most difficult 11.6m player I can remember in a while. Just constant drama and difficulty.
