Neat.

Doesnt really answer the question. Obviously. But neat. Well done sir.

Your question was "what's happened with Chytil?" and I answered it: nothing.

But when you have a certain narrative you want to push, I can see why the answer wouldn't be sufficient.

There are better arguments to make if you really want to make the point you're trying to make,

sigh....

Ok tell me what is my secret evil motive?

I am definitely growing increasingly frustrated with Tocchet’s post game interviews being some variation of “we didn’t play to our identity” or “we didn’t execute our plan” or “we just stopped playing our way”. At some point when those comments start to pile up, you start looking at the coaching staff and wondering if they’ve lost the room.

I’m not saying this team is good enough to have success in some sort of free wheeling offensive system. But I’m beginning to wonder if the players are finding themselves frustrated by the way they’re being asked to play.

(I don’t know the answers to any of that. Just thinking out loud)
thats what exit meetings are for. the players will defintely have a say in his system. either fire him or trade us to a different team so we can be creatively be free offensively.

Yeah, leave it up to the players.

Based on the 43 vote of confidence, I don't think coach is going anywhere anytime soon. If he is, we are in maybe the deepest trouble I've witnessed as a franchise.

That's it...plain and simple. Sorry to disappoint with my interpretation of the truth.

I wouldn't say that there is a language barrier, but I have come to believe that some nuances in the English language is being missed here. Like you answered his question but somehow it's not being understood and the response in return is something confusing and or vague.

I think exit meetings are important for information gathering but that's pretty much it. This shouldn't be a democracy where players get to pick their coach. This isn't the NBA where managing personalities might be 70-80% of the job. There's also the fact that players' opinions are rather subjective. The team's star players given ice time and opportunities are likely to like the coach. Give any player increased ice time and on PP1 and the PK when no other coach has done it before and he'll likely like the coach.

I'm not advocating Tocchet to be fired. I don't mind bringing him back another year. At the same time I don't think changing coaches necessarily means we are in deep trouble. If management has lost faith in Tocchet and there's someone they think would be an upgrade they should make the change rather than see what happens.

Oh and don't I know it...But I do think the players ought to have some say and enough go to bat for him like their leader did, the result isn't set in stone but the etches are at least spoken for.

It's a lose-Hughes type of world out there now. I just hope we keep him happy enough to keep. Even if he plays only 20 minutes, getting to see him turn chicken shit into chicken salad is a bright spot in my day.

I can’t even tell if he’s the problem.
Everything has just been shit this year, except Hughes, and now he’s injured again

Makes no sense to fire Tocchet. He's not a perfect coach. Like the creative and offensive side of the team is stifled because Tocchet has the team playing structured hockey - staples. This can look bad at times but it's because our entire top 6 has disappeared this year and I don't really think it's fair to cast blame on Tocchet for those problems.

My biggest complaint about people wanting to fire Tocchet is that if he's fired and you bring in a more offensive mind with less structure you typically get smoked in the playoffs. Then the same fans are saying 'I'd rather play boring hockey if we're winning'. Maybe I'm out to lunch here but I think Tocchet is an effective playoff coach. And based on his success last year I'm willing to give some rope here.

We can acknowledge the defense for the first 45 games was a pathetic mess - that's on management. We can acknowledge our entire core blew up in the span of 4 months - thats on the players. I just don't see how our problems and lack of success this year can be attributed to our coaching. It's a cop out and would be a pretty massive knee-jerk decision in the grand scheme of things.
