Not a bad idea, as most of the "news" is slanted to fit an agenda, and not fairly presenting both sides of the story/issue and letting the viewer decide how they feel. Now, they TELL you how to feel, and you are in the wrong if you feel any other way than the "official narrative".

In the past 5 years, the media reliability has absolutely completely disappeared. For me, and in my opinion. I'm certainly not telling any of you what to think on this.

That's mostly agreeable. The media by and large is owned by the wealthy and for better or worse they are all generally on the same side. The more they can keep people entertained, bickering and/or afraid the more we don't pay attention to what they are doing. But that's a convo for another place and time.

Not sure why anyone pays any attention to the "news". Very little of what you see actually impacts your day to day life. Even if it does, there's sweet f***-all you can do about it

Turn it off and go outside. Have a conversation with someone you love. Be present to your direct environment and be kind to the people you interact with (unless they're doing 65km/h in an 80km/h zone, in which case let them have it)

There was a protest here in BC four years ago ... I can't mention it because its not allowed on here but the news media covering it was called out and attacked. They were so scared for their lives as people confronted them they packed up and left asap. People were swearing and spitting at them as they raced to their vehicles to get the heck out of there.

before this season they did 1 year at a time but they decided to go 3 this year to give teams/agents clarity for the future

they haven't felt the effect from the economy yet, the cap will go up, if the economy effects the nhl it will effect the salary cap in a few years time and we will likely have a flat cap then until the owners are whole again just like covid

Do you honestly think the cba talks would be going as smoothly and would be almost done if they some how went back on the agreement?

The cap not going up would be such a major story as that's all that's talked about on every show..

The owners are protected by escrow. It doesn't matter what happens to the economy, the players only get 50% of revenues. Of course, the players hate escrow, but the PA wants to keep the cap inflating - if it reflects reality, then great; if it doesn't then it makes the players mad and they can bargain hard in the next CBA negotiation.
