before this season they did 1 year at a time but they decided to go 3 this year to give teams/agents clarity for the future
Salary cap could increase to $113.5 million for 2027-28 season
www.nhl.com
The
agreement sets the following annual increases to the Upper Limit, subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement being in effect beyond the 2025-26 season: $7.5 million in 2025-26; $8.5 million in the 2026-27 season and $9.5 million in the 2027-28 season.
The projected Team Payroll Ranges for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons will be subject to potential
minor adjustments (up or down).
they haven't felt the effect from the economy yet, the cap will go up, if the economy effects the nhl it will effect the salary cap in a few years time and we will likely have a flat cap then until the owners are whole again just like covid
Do you honestly think the cba talks would be going as smoothly and would be almost done if they some how went back on the agreement?
The cap not going up would be such a major story as that's all that's talked about on every show..
