The playoffs are not the regular season and we are not built for a long playoff run. The Jets need more players that can actually produce results in the playoffs and not just fill roster spots.
And as far as goaltending… who the Helly knows. After 3 seasons of being the worst goalie on the planet ( minus a game here and there) in the playoffs what do you do? I know other teams would be having serious talks about moving on from a goalie that gives them horrible playoff performances like we have seen, but we all know the Jets will take the “cross your fingers and hope for the best” when it comes to Helly even if it means 7 more playoffs like the last 3.
The thing is finding a goalie who is playoff beast is very hard to find.
Sometimes some of the goalies gets into a hot streak at the right time.
Looking at the bigger picture here, keeping Helly and trying to push further is more clear path than finding someone out there to replace him.
Like i said in my other post. More teams have had more heartbreaks than our Jets recently.
The real focus should be, and i know it starts with Helly. How they can win on the road. If they are able do that next year. For sure another big steps is taken.
Then again the window with our core is very small now. Hopefully another couple young players step up to plate and contribute. We sure not going to get it via trade deadline or Free agency.
THEY need to look at all the tapes over and over again as a team and coaching staff. All the road games and see what failed them.
Looking at the bright side the last 2 games on the road was way better and what mattered most is they showed the fight that was lacking in other playoff years.
Just the Stars coming from back to back Western Finals just loaded more.
GO JETS GO
yes Jets need to add 1 or 2 that thrives in the playoffs but again easier said than done just because its Winnipeg Manitoba.
Imagine if the JETS wins it they will buck the trend on how to build a championship team.
