If anything, I was happy that the "Mighty Ducks" were kept off the Cup that year. Hated how Disney was trying to sell them at the time, but jumped back on the bandwagon one last time to try to milk it.
One of these days I need to check the game 3 video from that series. ABC does an obligatory interview with Disney CEO Michael Eisner in the stands and I swear he's wearing a hat that says "HOCKEY" on it. It's not even a Ducks hat, it's a hat that had the words "HOCKEY." I like to imagine that he told his secretary to get him a hockey hat for the game that night and that's what she came back with.
Drove up for Father's Day on Saturday and listened to a pretty good interview with Jim Fox on the radio. He tried not to say it outright, but you could tell that this Cup win meant a little more for him than 2012.
I was watching game 5 with my Kings friends who were getting increasingly nerve racked into the OTs. I tried to calm them down with "there's nothing like winning a Cup in OT." I can still pull up the Jason Arnott 2OT Cup winner from 2000 and it never fails to bring a smile.
