Hoping for another low eventful game that yields the same result. It might be boring hockey, but the results show it works.
Last season record January 2nd 2024: 17-10-7, 41 points.
This season record January 2nd 2025: 22-13-2, 48 points
That's a different number of games. After 38 games, we've actually had:
2024-2025: 48 points
2023-2024: 49 points
2022-2023: 53 points
2021-2022: 53 points
2020-2021: 53 points

I think Matthews is only a couple more games away. Maybe back on the last half of the back to back or first game next week.

unfortunately it's how the season will play out. I don't think he should play on team USA.

It's a fun tournament but he's not missing the Olympics or something.

near the end of the season If they're in good shape... they probably shut him down for a while.

it's probably a back issue but I wondered if it's a rib injury or something else beyond a regular injury. Either way hopefully by next season it's in the past because it's something he's going to have to play through.

Anyway Go Leafs Go tonight. Hopefully they put this one to bed quick and score a bunch. One can hope.

The NHl and NHLPA will push for him to play unfortunately. It doesn’t seem like he has debilitating injury that they can use as an excuse. The best we can hope for is he goes to the four nations and dominates and regains his form.

With the Junior game on at the same time if they’re ever going to have an absolute stinker it might be a good night to do it.

Dominate against Sweden and shutout against Canada.

This will be a dreadful game to watch. The Islanders are a terrible team.
January NHL is a tough watch.

Expecting a loss.

Be thrilled with a lottery win.

Talking heads on Sportsnet talking about their poor puck moving defenders. So many blocked shots because they're weak at moving / managing the puck.

Sky looks blue?

Howdy Ho's

Once again let's put this trash team in its place. Get ahead and stay ahead.

Bourne wants to see Reilly be great more often... gonna be waiting a long long time for that.

Congrats Sportsnet. Game hasn't even started and I've had 2 complete lockups already.
