Maybe my favorite Capital ever. Very talented with great hands, a guy you could rarely accuse of having a lazy night. Played much bigger than his size, which probably led to his injuries that kept piling up (I believe he said at one point his back was so bad he couldn’t get off the floor and was peeing in bottles). He’d come back from injuries and just play the way he played before, no use trying to get him to take it easy, it just wasn’t in his nature.

I think he’ll have a job somewhere in the Caps organization the rest of his working days if he wants. Extremely beloved in the Capitals world.

Makes me wonder what kind if quality of life he'll have from here on. 38 is ancient for an athlete but youngish for a life span.

He was 6 feet tall, but really thick.

He should be a shootout specialist for the Caps.

I thought he scored more than 300 goals. Like, I'm not knocking the guy. Scoring 300 goals - let alone a goal - in the NHL is impressive, but the guy played 15+ seasons.
