yeh that was pretty bad.

Don't think the OP's example is really that bad. At worst it's a borderline hit. As far as jumping in I can't comment. But the officiating this year has been atrocious and I swear it's almost bias against Canadian teams. No clue if that's just confirmation bias or what though.

I've seen some awful calls against my team and other teams. Although haven't seen too many go for us. But it's not like my team has a rep or anything( :sarcasm: ).

With Hindsight the hit definitely isn't "clearly from behind". I was probably just really heated at the moment I made the post. Wasn't the cleanest hit ever either.

Anyways, It was sort of a culmination. Lets just say I didn't call him out just for that hit. I always found myself cursing at him whenever he was reffing one of our games

Certainly, but considering that he was promoted from the AHL, I can't conceive the fact that he was the best out of the lot.

Here's the hit, by the way. Crazy how he's just staring at haha. Pateryn got a cut on his face, but he's back

That's not even a penalty. Jesus some people just cry to cry about everything.

Very good non call by the rookie ref.

Pateryn tried to sell it more than anything.

It looked like it was going to be a shoulder to shoulder hit but Pateryn turned a little bit and got out muscled big time.

That being said, you missed the rest of the clip because he was bleeding a lot and looked like he might have lost a tooth or two so I seriously doubt he was trying to sell anything. His face hit the board pretty hard.

That hit on Pateryn is... Not a penalty. Pateryn needs to be way stronger on his skates there. 6'2 222 pounds and he goes down like that on a hit from 5'10 185 Cogliano? Almost as funny as Soshnikovs "board" on one of the Caps big d men last night.

Anybody who watches Cogliano play knows he can't hit like that. Pateryn sold that big time.

The Habs were diving all over last night. It was hilarious. How about Gallagher taking out Gibson that Luxmore didn't call goaltender interference? That should be the main focus of this thread.

TJ Luxmore used to be known in Hershey as TJ "Sucksmore" because he was absolutely atrocious in the AHL as well. A couple guys in the section next to me used to always ride him pretty hard during the game. I was wondering why he hasn't refereed an AHL game in awhile.

it was pretty funny to see hab fans complain about a good hit, that was just kind of unlucky when their team was doing dives that would make a pelican proud

It's one thing to speak about diving and selling calls, but this wasn't one of them. Pateryn doesn't dive, and he got cut open/got stiches on that play. Saying he was weak/outmuscled/out of balance is one thing I can live with/accept as an argument. Saying he dived is a preposterous claim.
