I like Hyman a lot, but if Brodie is involved I would definitely let him go. Especially if he's replacing Hainsey or Zaitsev.

 How generous.
Flames give Toronto a guy with the same ppg, playing in a top pairing role; just because.

I think Brodie may actually be available in the off-season, if the Flames acquire a big UFA they need to sign at the deadline. The Flames have Valimaki, Andersson, and Kylington ready for the NHL. Depending on how they play down the stretch/playoffs, management may want to try one of them in a top 4 role. Brodie is the likely cap casualty out of the Flames current top-4.

There's probably not a place for Hyman in the lineup though. The Flames already have Gaudreau, Tkachuk, and Bennett down the left side.

Hyman is also in at least 2 categories lesser of asset value than Brodie.

Nylander for Brodie +?
Outside of that or Kadri straight up not really interested.
I highly doubt the Leafs are looking to trade Nylander and I'm positive that they won't trade him for an offensive LHD with 1 year on his deal...

Brodie is much better on the right side, he’s also good defensively

But I agree TO would be looking for a guy with more term
