He's stayed out of the limelight since the Kings won the cup and feel bad. I was against Blake as an assistant GM but I trust Dean Lombardi in choosing him as an assistant GM. Time to forgive this guy and let his number go up into the rafters.

People are starting too, at Staples on Monday, there were a few people booing but many more cheers.

Some individuals will hang on to the hate until til they die.

No.

Next request.

Thanks for referring to me as an a-hole.

I will not boo, but I will be damned if I ever cheer for him. He has no business being here imo.

I never got into the pettiness of the whole thing. I liked him as a King when I was growing up, and I've never had a problem with him. It's a business.

I didn't boo, but I was genuinely surprised at the amount of cheers.

Then again, who really wants to boo when you just won a Stanley Cup?

No jersey retirement. Don't expect us to stand up and cheer for the guy on some special night. Everything good that he did early in his career was undone by him dumping the C.

That's why the LA fans didn't boo Bettman, I think. People on various other, league-wide hockey boards were going on about how Vancouver in 2011 showed how fans are really supposed to boo Bettman, but of course that was after they just lost the Cup on home ice and shortly before they had a riot. They would have booed Jesus right then.

He did look pretty nervous just before his name was called during the Staples celebration, unsure to what the reaction would be. You could see relief after nothing happened.

Time to let it go guys.

It's an awkward situation for sure.

I don't dislike the guy, I don't boo him, but under no circumstances should his jersey be retired. He's simply not worthy.

I was over it ages ago. I cheered loudly for him because he's a King and in part to prevent our fanbase from looking petty. It's simply a bad message to send to the players and management out on the ice that afternoon. I'm glad the boos were drowned out as it would've greatly taken away from the rally.

I'm sure many of us have had to make difficult career decisions in our lives. Can you imagine having millions of fans judging your every move?

Same. Loved Blake when he was a King and was sad to see him go elsewhere, but I didn't take it personally, just like we don't expect players to take it personally when they are traded or let go to benefit the team as a whole. We shouldn't expect any player to stay with us when they get offers elsewhere, even if we want them to. I want him to feel welcome in his own organization, and I want us to feel like it is okay to be proud that we drafted and developed such an excellent player.
