Post-Game Talk: Time to finish the story

Never seen prices like this before. Lots of out of towners driving the market.

Sorry?

Been cheering for the team my whole life and school/career opportunities took me away from Alberta after undergrad. I couldn't make it to Edmonton for a game last SCF because I was traveling for work then went straight on vacation planned months in advance. I had to seize then opportunity this time.

Don't listen or apologize - these prices were just as nuts last year. I had people offer me $5,000 for my 2 upper bowl game 6 tickets last year, all of which came from people living in Edmonton (I didnt sell. Me and the wife went. Amazing game). The prices are not being driven up by out of towners. They being driven up simply by people wanting to go, as I believe there is a greater sense of "this could be the year" compared to last year.

They are also "higher" as my price is up 20%+ from the Oilers this year compared to last year. If people want to sell for the money, this inherently drives the prices up as well as the Oilers are very aware what people are willing to pay, and are very much of the mindset "if you will pay this much, we might as well be the ones getting paid."

I would only pay thousands of bucks for a cup clinching game. Not any other one (unless I lived outside of Edmonton and wanted to go to a game).

If that happens, I might have to pony up on the secondary market.

It's not just out of towners. It's a hot ticket and even in towners are gonna be more enthusiastic at jumping on it.

You're still an out of towner. Enjoy the game.
