Post-Game Talk: Time to finish the story

A beautiful photo. And the best part is, the Dallas fans don't look upset, they all look they're wishing they could be Oilers' fans...

But you know Dallas, you just can't drill like Edmonton...

For those who were worried that Leon was stuck playing a shutdown role with scrubs on his wings, he ended up with 9 points in the series, and was once again excellent defensively. Having him in this role is not wasting his talents, but expanding them to include perhaps the most underappreciated roles, but one of the most important ones, the shutdown C. He has done it with his usual class, and his offense has barely taken a hit. Full credit to Knobs for realizing that Leon was ready for this role and to Leon to accept it with his usual team first attitude.

Dallas fans look like kids with their noses pressed against the candy store window, desperately wanting to get in, but they aren't allowed.

Just a short while ago, we were hearing about how Rantanen was a playoff beast and we'd have to watch out for him in the conf finals. 3 measly assists, no goals, Mcdavid and Drai both passed him in playoff stats, and Rants was so invisible that he might as well have been back in Carolina

That turned into a total nothing-burger of a story
Never heard his name all series after sportsnet and others never stopped hyping him up lol

It is obviously not 100% accurate, but I had to go back to MoneyPUck for last year

Game 1 - 88.4% for EDM
Game 2 - 70.6% for FLA
Game 3 - 61.1% for EDM
Game 4 - 83.1% for EDM

Game 5 - 53% for FLA
Game 6 - 63.5% for FLA
Game 7 - 63.4% for EDM
It is 100 percent accurate lol you proved it. I never said oil dominated but overall oil carried play that series more than Florida. Never said we dominated every period or game. Also money puck isn’t 100 percent the story ..

It also freed up RNH to take a more offensive role, resulting in his best production ever in the playoffs.

Some historic names there though to be honest I had never heard of Jimmy Skinner. Seems he was the Red wings Coach for Howe's last two cups.

What makes this even more notable is the fact that other than Scotty Bowman the other guys did this in a 6 team league. That means they only had to win one round. And Bowman did it with the Blues in the weird system where the expansion teams played one another before the cup.

Why even say it at all? What purpose does trashing your goalie do?
Dude has a very short shelf life with the teams he’s coached despite all the success he’s had. I think we got a good look at why during this series. He had no answers for anything the Oilers were doing and instead resorted to meaningless, petty gamesmanship through the media the entire series. He’s a fraud and a jerk. Players tune him out quickly.

Agreed, I think Bowman hasn’t got a lot of recognition for filling in the holes on the roster. Mostly due to the loss of Holloway and Broberg to offer sheets. But the additions of Klingberg and Walman make our D formidable. D looks great, team is playing its best hockey of the year at the right time…let’s go!!!
Everyone has torn a strip of Bowman. Especially when Holloway and Broberg were playing lights out. Bowman went about his business, made some nice signings and trades and kaboom.
Klingberg- Bowman rolled the dice on that one. Lots were questioning this one.
Walman, Emberson - masterpiece of a trade
Frederic - Bowman took big heat on this one.
Skinner/ Pickard - Bowman took major heat on this decision
