One clench night with the early third period goal. That McDavid second period dagger though was amazing. Thought Kapanen and Podkolzen were both excellent. Kap's best game as an Oiler using his speed and hitting everything. Podkolzen motor never stops and he disrupts getting to pucks to keep plays alive. Nurse, Walman were excellent. Kulak too with a couple wobbles.

That is what every legend has said. They learned. Gretzky said it after his loss. You do not want to feel that again. It is gut wrenching b/c you don't know when you will get back there. McDavid is going to channel that feeling.

Most of this team felt it, just like FLA felt it when they got ass kicked by Vegas

With the exception of Hyman, everybody else should be ready to go. Exciting stuff but Bobby will be tougher to beat than Otter.

LA was favored, with way better goaltending. Same with Vegas. Same with Dallas. In every series we ended up with the better goaltending. Go figure.

I think it’s because management (mainly Bowman) prioritized getting puck moving dman. The Walman pick up has been great. I think he/we lucked into Klingberg to some degree. In general we are spending less time defending.


But I think its also that the coaching staff has made tweaks to protect Skinner. We have cut down on allowing rush plays and Skinner isn’t getting forced a ton to move east/west.

And lastly the players are executing what the coaching staff wants.

Big difference I noticed after this conference win from last is the players took it in enjoyed the moment embraced the trophy , last year they were all serious and were almost uptight. no matter what they are enjoying the run this time

Game 1 - 88.4% for EDM
Game 2 - 70.6% for FLA
Game 3 - 61.1% for EDM
Game 4 - 83.1% for EDM
Game 5 - 53% for FLA
Game 6 - 63.5% for FLA
Game 7 - 63.4% for EDM
