Post-Game Talk: Time to finish the story

Skinner finished with a -0.12 GSAx, so I think his save percentage is a bit misleading tonight. That's basically break-even and around what Pickard was getting. When Stu was losing us games it was more like -1.5 to -2.6. And keep in mind this is after allowing two goals in three games, averaging like 2.5 GSAx, and facing twenty plus shots a night and some high-dangers. I don't think old Stu is back.
He made enough great saves tonight to offset that stinker in the third imo.

Yeah, the team was pretty stingy tonight for shots against.

The only goal that he'll want back is the 3rd one. He didn't give up successive goals. It's all good.

Ugly 3rd goal but made some big time saves. He’s been great since LA basically.

This one is for the OGs

Does anyone remember that poster that used post in poems and rhyming prose? Does anyone know what happened to him/her? For some reason i just remembered them

For real, if anything him giving up that stinker and then looking solid gave me more confidence in him going forward.
Every goalie will give up shitty goals, its how you deal with them that matters. Skinner has a lot of the time unraveled but he doesnt anymore and I love that.

Just a short while ago, we were hearing about how Rantanen was a playoff beast and we'd have to watch out for him in the conf finals. 3 measly assists, no goals, Mcdavid and Drai both passed him in playoff stats, and Rants was so invisible that he might as well have been back in Carolina

That turned into a total nothing-burger of a story

Fair enough, Pete.

I'll give you that one.

Funny enough, their D with Ceci and Swissy Desharnais reminded me a bit of Edmonton's D last postseason...only we had Broberg instead of career AHL bum Petrovic, and had the luxury of sitting our 6'7" pylon.

Maybe its just time. Would be frustrating coaching the Stars in the playoffs. Remember this is a club that had heights but also managed to lose a series to the Calgary Flames. Like how do you even lose to them? By not scoring shit.

Stars never gonna get anything and cause balding.

Robertson was the only real threat they had in this series and he showed up way too late to the party. Kudos to the team for neutralizing Rantanen.

Missed the game tonight but was scoreboard watching.

This time, they’re better prepared. They know what it takes now. Florida doesn’t know this beast. The hardest team they’ve faced so far is Toronto, which is not built for the playoffs. Edmonton is built for the playoffs.

He was a bigger disappointment than Y2K.
