Post-Game Talk: Time to cut the moustache

Vegas moved on from Marchessault as he declined , Tampa from Stamkos, heck Rangers told Trouba waive or we won’t play you. This organization does not want to win, I legitimately don’t believe they do. They want to be a place the “good guys” can mooch of Mcdrai.
Yup, you won the playoffs MVP? Cool, see you later. MAF was a beloved goalie? Sorry buddy, you cost us a series (and potentially a Cup) against Montreal. Draft picks? We'll gladly throw a bunch away at guys we personally scouted around the league. I remember a lot of scoffing at the Brandon Hagel trade... Dude is a f***ing stud. Well done, Tampa. We could only dream of such a coup.

Meanwhile we retained basically every old fart from our Cup run and cast aside many useful, younger players. Not a super popular opinion but I would've been a bit more tough on Kane's extension. If he doesn't come back and light it up... ugh.

It's almost impressive how poorly this team is run from top to bottom. McDavid and Draisatl carry such a huge, thankless load for this team.

This is definitely a possibility. St. Louis and Calgary are both red hot and we are riddled with Injuries.
I guarantee that if it came down to the wire they’d play McDrai even if they aren’t healthy.

My theory on Skinner is that he was better earlier in his career when the book wasn't out on him yet... now that more teams have seen him play and can exploit his lack of athletic abilities... he's been exposed as a subpar goalie. Good size but poor lateral/athletic ability and overall doesn't play positionally well in net.

I think he's largely cooked at the NHL level.

If Stu is out and we get bounced maybe he gets another crack next season. If we are going down in flames I want him here healthy and manning the net so that at season's end there is no way in hell that he can come back for next season. f*** you (Schwartz) and your little dog Stu!
Schwartz will pay off the DR and Skinner will be good to go for HNIC Saturday despite two concussion protocols in days...

<SKinner wearing a neck brace> "he says he's good to go, he wants the cage"

Wonder if the cool players in the stands hang with him if he's out. Maybe they send him to fetch some drinks.

Oh, oh. Drinking game. Guzzle everytime Skinner does that eyes rolling around in his head thing. Gets me everytime.

I know bashing Skinner is the theme here but IMO Ekholm-Bouchard pairing was as big a trainwreck as Skinner tonight. Walman looked best of the bunch but didn't get the big minutes.

Knoblauch is a bigger problem than anyone wants to admit. When his decisions are blatantly stupid this consistently, I have to wonder… There is a lot of skill on this team in every area but the net. They can perform better, as we’re seeing, but him and our goaltending are holding this team back.

I nominate you GM. Get up to the podium. heh

Real good first period. Lots of character with a big third period that just about came all of the way back. That's the big picture with no super elites.

Beauty Johnston snipe on breakdown leaves all that effort wasted and team chasing the game. Then throw some bad goals in the middle. Management spending money everywhere except goaltender has left this team very vulnerable.

Gotta be the easiest prescout meeting in NHL history:

Coach: "So if you are going down the wing"
Player: "Ya"
Coach: "Just pass it across. Guy can't move."
Player: "Thanks, coach"

Dustbin Schwartz might as well run the team at this point.

We have a management group that doesn’t want to do their jobs. They’re too lazy to build around Mcdrai so they kick the Nurse contract down the road . Then when he’s up they don’t want to find an actual top pair defenseman, they just pay him like one. They don’t want to develop players like Holloway and Broberg, they’d rather give those spots to guys other teams developed and have moved on from. Unless a problem is screaming at them in the face, they won’t do anything about it. And by the time they do, 3 other problems have opened up. This team’s “plan” for the last decade has been “let the 2 superstars win it for us.” It’s only come close because Mcdrai are absolutely incredible. But make no mistake, they’ve been bailing out horrendous management for a decade now.
I'm not going to blame the current management group for Holland's mistakes anymore than I blamed Holland for Chiarelli's mistakes. Holland definitely was a softer good guy type, but there is no evidence Bowman shares any of his soft nature.

The new management group has no real attachment to the players they inherited, and should have a fresh perspective as outsiders coming in. The mistakes they're making with regards to goaltending are their own in a way that doesn't require a narrative about a decade long pattern of behavior.

For years my scouting report has been just sift pucks to net. Don't miss net, just put em there, any velocity. Alternately dump puck behind Skinner, make him fetch. Guaranteed scoring chances. Takes forever for the NHL to scout things decently. I still laugh when guys fire up the cannon on Skinner and miss net. Like why do that. Just feed it to the pinball bumbers. Shoot for the bumpers. Free game everytime.

This management is virtually the same as the previous two sets of management. Absolutely no proactivity at all. They let Holloway and Broberg go for basically nothing. The only moves Bowman made all year prior to the TDL was scouring the waiver wire and other non-NHL players like Klingberg. And the only real addition at the trade deadline was Walman. He's fine but I'm not sure he addresses any needs. We're hoping and praying that Frederic and Kane are needle movers come playoff time but by then it might be too late for this team.

Current management decided that despite being an alright team all year, that they were every bit as good as the team that nearly won it all last year. Well, come to find out that they're not. And now we're sitting third place in the division, with virtually no hope of catching Vegas. And we might not even catch the Kings as we don't have any tiebreakers on them.

BowJack are absolutely responsible for this team. They went backwards in the offseason and all throughout the year. The fanbase screamed at them to upgrade between the pipes and they stood pat all year. Colorado went out and got not one but two goalies while Bowman twiddled his thumbs like the idiot he is. I could care less if he was just hired. If this team doesn't win the Cup this year, he should be gone. Period.

"if that doesn't work, throw it anywhere, you can probably beat him below the pads along the ice."
That was the one that Debrusk said was a goal scorers goal. Like as if he'd know..........anything.

That Debrusk was even an NHL player is kind of embarrassing. he sure ate a lot of punches too. I hear steel marbles rolling around his head when he talks. Soemthing ain't right.

Who stole your account?

Do my lying eyes deceive? Has El Capitan of the booster club finally joined us in reality?

Honestly the only hope this team has is if the coaching staff doesn’t have the option of playing Skinner. It’s a sad situation and I’m not proud of myself for saying it, but this club needs Skinner to go down with a season ending injury.

Would've agreed with you if we hadn't tried a dozen other coaches already.
If you are blaming Knob then blame Coffey as well since defensive lapses are killing us as much as goaltending.

For me Knob is good enough to win us the cup. He is as good as any coach in the league unless there is one out there with balls to bench McDavid and Drai when they overpass or play away from the syatem. Our goaltending and defense isn't good enough to win us the cup.

The management group have opted to run with an unathletic, mid-level goalie that shouldn't be an NHL starter for a wanna be Cup contender. This team needed to upgrade its goaltending and instead spent it all on non-driving small forwards.
I just figured out that Skinner is to goaltending what Debrusk was to fighting. Its all fitting together now and makes sense, and why they like each other. Dumb and dumber.
