Post-Game Talk: Time to cut the moustache

I've been saying all season that this forward corps outside of McDavid and Draisatl shouldn't scare anyone. They seriously struggle to produce offense. How many games have we won this year when we put up 40 shots?
The last 2 games they have scored 8 goals as a team. Meanwhile you keep giving Skinner a pass no matter how much he sucks. That should be 2 W's or at least a win and an OT or SO loss.

Yeah, lets be clear too that the Stars defending with abysmal a lot of the night. blown clears, blown outs, standing around letting Oilers whack at pucks all night around crease. Simply another ugly game from Stars D. We got lots. But a buncha square pegs that don' ever score. The game was there. Dallas just weren't interested in 60mins of work tonight. Could tell from first period. They did bring it in 2nd. Dallas typically try to get by on playing one period. Not sure whats up with that.

I keep saying that Skinner is simply a byproduct of the org not putting in the required effort to address areas of need. They didn't score at all until halfway through the third. I wouldn't get too excited for Pickard either. The last time we got giddy about him the Ducks scored a touchdown.

It's nice they didn't quit but they needed to put at least one past Oettinger earlier on in the game.

Bryan, the Oilers decided that Skinner would be the starter come hell or high water. If Skinner fails, does that not mean the team was wrong to hand him the keys and not insulate him with a better backup?

Schwartz will have Stu ready for 8 of the next 10 starts regardless of how badly he will shit the bed in those games.
Debrusk tonight: "well honestly Stu Skinner doesn't want to come out of the cage tonight and its his goal and he's gonna stay in it." (another 4GA in 4mins on 20SOG)

I get almost sick listening to the stupidity. Apparently Skinner owns the Oilers net. he bought it or something. its his to lose no matter what.

This is all so strange. Is the Org TRYING to get us all bent over this?

Teh only person that got Skinner out of the cage was Rantanen. But he's too expensive and we can't have him. ;) (wouldn't want him, just jk around)

Time to recall one of the 2 AHL goalies that we were also too confident in to upgrade on.

Part of me wants Skinner to just be out and the goaltending to truly blow up in their face. Takes out the Pejorative Slured “duhhh our goalies are good excuse” when it gets questioned because nobody seems to have the wherewithal to ask “what happens if one gets hurt.”

Even if Skinner was a shoe in for the Vezina, not getting a redundancy for injury is flat out inexcusable and fireable for both of them.

(I don’t want this to blow up, by the way, but f*** this is ridiculous).

Stars are a paper tiger. They don’t scare me. But do the Oilers scare anyone this year? I don’t think Vegas or Colorado would be too worried to play us.

It is beyond any sort of logic or reason that we didn’t address our goaltending issue during the year. I am beyond a patient person, but this is inexcusable. Add this to the offer sheet fiasco, and it’s another huge miss by our owner in his management hiring. So frustrating.
One of the reasons(excuses) that was trotted out there was we couldn’t upgrade the goalies because what if the new guy gets hurt. I and others pointed out that the same logic applies to our shallow goaltending pool now. Well look where we are now. You can’t make this stuff up.

2 games above. 900

I heard he’s a local boy and really good guy in the room. I swear if Skinner was European he would have been kicked to the curb awhile ago.

Also thanks to Bowman for wasting our season. Dude should be fired ASAP before he continues to Chia our team into oblivion

Isn't that something. Hundred PPs when the 2 greatest PP players happen to be out. F ing garbage.

On another note...
Transport me back to mid 80s please. Not just for cups but for a little 'Don Jackson', so that Mr Steel dosent get up for 5 minutes behind the net. Then throw in a bit of 'Glenn Anderson' for a standard rush on Oettinger.
The play by Steel is a level of brain damage play not seen since that stupid Oiler took a dunce penalty at worst possible moment in the Jets series. Forget who that guy was. The guy that was religiously against Covid shots or something.

If I'm a coach and I see Steele doing that and taking a penalty there that could've been a 2 man down call he's not seeing the ice again. Was a real dumb thing to do. Rookie thing but h'es no rookie.

Oh. Archibald, thats the guy I was thinking of. how to erase your NHl career in easy lessons...

We’ve wasted a decade of two generational talents with nothing to show for it

This is quite literally our decade of darkness 2.0, just a different kind of pain
The Oilers also weren't even close to turning things around before McDavid arrived. They were still very much wandering in the desert. Without McDavid Draisatl doesn't blossom into the player he is today. Katz brought in his buddies to run a country club and only decided to "get serious" when he was gifted a generational talent for sucking. A truly unserious org.

Is losing Skinner to injury really a bad thing though? An inanimate carbon rod could be an upgrade at this point
