Post-Game Talk: Time to cut the moustache

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I think it's past a few posters' bed times.

Anyway, I liked the scrum with Perry. Gave an impression that the intensity is going to pick up down the stretch.

Very minor note, but I'm surprised that Jones has taken his foot off the gas so much. He had a pretty big opportunity to get consideration for an energy role in the playoffs, but after a great first game, there hasn't been much sandpaper to his game. I wonder if Knob saw him lay a few big hits and told him to knock it off.

You think hes catching that guy?

Is he supposed to hustle back so he can pull the puck out of the net faster?
I get you.. but it's just a laughable clip. 0 urgency shown as if he knee Skinner isn't stopping the first shot so no rebound would be available.
Ekholm was trash tonight.

When your top pair (and Ekholm needs to be included in this) is as embarrassingly terrible as they were, and your #1 goalie is likely the worst in the league it’s hard to win, even if everyone else on the team plays well. And tonight everyone else other than 2, 14 and 74 played very well.

Same old dumb shit, doesn’t matter who is or isn’t in the lineup. Dominate, don’t score, do a single dumb thing, back of the net, chase the game from there. Every f***ing game.

Nice attempt at making a game of it, but they need offense when the game is still close, not when the opposing team has taken their foot off the gas for the entire 3rd period because they were spotted 4 goals by a terrible goaltender.

Not too surprised by the results though. Dallas is a bit overrated, but they're still a good playoff bound team. Fortunately, they get to play Seattle again, another round against a bottom feeder team playing out the string with arguably worse goaltending than what Skinner offers should let the offense actually look effective without Mcdrai once more. I bet the Krakan will be happy to let RNH cosplay as a top six forward again too.
AS much as this looked impressive from the Oilers its the Standard Stars fold job when they think the game is over. they get skating in sand running around soemtimes in games like this. That said the avalanche of PP's helped shape that. Only intelligent thing Debrusk said is that the Stars stopped skating.

Again though its why Kapanens work getting that PP with a few secs left in 2nd period set us up for something in 3rd. Oilers were able to establish a tone and pin Stars back. Stars started to fatigue and make mistakes. Not impossible to get them running around.

Jones has an opportunity on a silver platter. Once Frederic and Kane are back he likely doesn't see another game for the Oilers this season and maybe even next.

Arvid on a breakaway. Jebus just this guy. its like he gets nervous and forgets how mommy taught him to skate. Watch his legs twitching around. Spastic. yeah not hard to catch him...

Oilers win this game if we don't have half a dozen players allergic to scoring.
I've been saying all season that this forward corps outside of McDavid and Draisatl shouldn't scare anyone. They seriously struggle to produce offense. How many games have we won this year when we put up 40 shots?

Jones just isn't an NHL player. Even with this kind of look he's showing us why he's never made the show. You gotta want it a lot more and outwork on every shift. The attitude for a player like this is every shift could be your last and work for it. He's not that guy.

Amazing that the Oilers get this many power plays when 97 and 29 aren't in the game. Yet the gifted 2 man advantage is what did them in.
Isn't that something. Hundred PPs when the 2 greatest PP players happen to be out. F ing garbage.

On another note...
Transport me back to mid 80s please. Not just for cups but for a little 'Don Jackson', so that Mr Steel dosent get up for 5 minutes behind the net. Then throw in a bit of 'Glenn Anderson' for a standard rush on Oettinger.

If he has a sense of urgency its not too apparent out there.
