Tim Stutzle is underrated

There's way too many other narratives out there about Stutzle other than him being one of the very best players on the planet.

He's shown every step of the way that he has the talent and tools, and fire, to be considered amongst the very best in the game - if he puts it all together one day. He scored 90pts as a teenager for goodness sakes, lest we forget.

And now, today at the ripe old age of 22yrs old, and with a new found love for playing defense first hockey, he looks like an absolute top tier centerman. Full stop.

Did he used to go down a bit easy and whine to the refs a lot? Yup, sure. So do a lot of other skilled teenaged superstars (not all I agree). It's something he's continued to improve at as he's matured.

He's not going down easily this year though. And even moreso than before - he's actually a very physical player. And he's very willing to get rough as need be.

Point being is that you should not sleep on Tim Stutzle anymore. And he's absolutely in the same tier as Jack Hughes, for context in what I'm saying here. Better than Petterson as of today.

Stützle still falls down a ton, which is part of what made the diving narrative a little overblown: Stu just falls down a lot, whether he is receiving physicality or giving it.

He’s become a lot stronger and more solid, but he is still growing into his body and still looks like bambi out there at times

He’s had a great start to the year, though… looks like he’s taking the next step we all expected after his breakout in 22-23.

So you're saying his diving is overrated. I would argue the contrary, that his diving is underrated. He's an excellent penalty-drawer. I could see him being a factor in La Liga if he ever wanted to play football.

He's good. Nice bounce back so far after an off year last season (injury). Can absolutely take over a game single handedly when he's at his best. Was dancing last night - a treat to watch.

Beautiful B.C.
Stutzle is to Suzuki what Michkov is to Demidov. Clearly superior
Well, not exactly. Stutzle was definitely playing way way down his talent level to where he was around Suzuki level for quite a while. Hopefully this is him getting back to the level in which so many fans have seen glimpses of.

He obviously has the potential to be a phenomenal talent but there is a serious question of whether or not he can continue the play without a black eye.... I'm not convinced. Needs the black eye or he will be Suz level for sure.

About Suzuki level but way more of a diver with no honor whatsoever

Still skeptical he'll ever be in the top echelon of centers that much of this forum seemed to think he is/was destined for but I have noticed he's been a lot more physical this season. More consistent defensively and just generally being in good spots.

He's young and still learning definitely, it's good the Sens got Giroux to help him build his game.
