Player Discussion Tim Stützle - (C) - Part VI

That scoring winger should be Drake Batherson, who completely disappeared in this series. 1 goal and 1 assist in six games just doesn't cut it...

It was a low-event series at 5 on 5.

Neither team was gambling to give up defensive positioning.

In that kind of series, you do hope that your PP can make the difference. Our 20% just wasn't good enough against Toronto's 35%, and that obviously includes top six guys like Batherson.

Also, if you look at faceoffs, the Leafs had a league best 70% winning percentage on their PPs, and we had a league worst 40.7% on ours.

Looking at the numbers, I can't believe LA is leading the playoffs with a 40% (!!!!) PP with Edmonton just below at 38.5%. Penalty killing optional.

The team and Tim needs another forward who can drive the play and create. Brady is a complimentary piece.

Crazy talk.

Brady on one hip had 4G and 7P in this series. That's a stat line similar to Marner and Matthews.

He's every bit a play driver.

The issue for us in this series wasn't our top end, or our bottom end. It was our middle.

Batherson and Cozens were disappointing. Cozens seemed like he ran out of gas, and Batherson was the definition of up and down. 2G and 4P between the two of them isn't good enough.

Yes, I know the box score. His tips and deflected goals are much needed but we don’t see him creating much other offence.

He turns makes lots of offensive plays down low and around the net. Forcing turnovers, making smart passes, etc.

There are different ways to create offense. Not everything needs to be in space or on the rush.

What we need is for Cozens and Batherson to be better as the 2nd line.

Bath is just too much of a dangler, not enough of a finisher or cerebral player to make the give and goes, or play with a high pace to help Tim hit another level.

Not remotely realistic targets, but it would be amazing to see Tim with a guy like Pastrnak, Kucherov, Draisaitl. Will hopefully get to see the two Germans together at the Olympics next year.

Timmy is so elite and so fun to watch. But he needs someone with speed on his line to keep up. Brady and G are too slow.
Is there any chance that the Sens would consider bringing back Formenton, if he is proven to be not guilty?

I would understand 100% if the organization have moved on and this is an absolute non-starter.

Purely looking him as a hockey player, he is/was one of the fastest skaters in the NHL.

No and he quit hockey anyway. He’s working construction, there was an article about it earlier in the season.
