Oh, I take Stu over Brady, Center vs winger is a big consideration for me, I just don't buy into the claim that Brady doesn't make the players around him better. Imo, guys tend to play a foot taller knowing he's on the ice with him, they have more space, and he's an underrated playmaker. He's also a huge benefit on the cycle, which wears out the opposition, and can be punishing on the forecheck.
best we have seen from Norris since lining up with Brady...Norris is even playing with an edge

What would the ideal winger look like for Stutzle? He has played well with Brady, Bath, G, but I wonder what kind of player would really click to create that dynamic offensive duo.

My thought would be a really smart shooter, who can get open, make good reads for give and goes, and have enough pace to keep up. Doesn't need to have the puck all the time, but can make zone entries and carry the puck when needed.

Brett Hull, Dany Heatley come to mind. Modern day, Draisaitl, Pastrnak possibly. Hopefully one day Stu has someone to ride shotgun with him!

Even some lesser stars, like Cheecho with Thornton, Hejduk and Gagne with Forsberg, Hyman with McDavid. Really need someone to finish his plays with regularity.

In a perfect world I think the best current fit with Stü would be Rantanen. That ain't happening though.

It's funny because Batherson and Norris seem to have really come to life playing with Brady, I think a lot of Tkachuks contributions go unnoticed, he's out there creating space for his linemates to thrive, but doesn't get any credit for their improved performance because he isn't making flashy plays.
Brady definitely makes that line unique and even more well rounded. Batherson's hands and creativity, Norris shot and defense, Brady's offensive tools and aggressiveness.

but i mean if you added Stutzle to Batherson and Norris they would look better too. because you just replaced a 2nd/3rd liner with a first liner. you're stacking one line.

with that said the Batherson-Norris-Brady line is probably our best line since Pizza line. They all have weaknesses that are minimized playing with each other and their strengths complement.

I was thinking this. Someone like Hyman who might not have top line skill, but has enough IQ to know where his positioning should be so he can clean up dirty goal.

Still think we should give Kaliyev a shot as a low cost but high reward. if it doesn't work, whatever.

if it works? we got a middle class version of McDavid-Draisaitl.

I love what Tkachuk brings to the table as a captain, is unique and he’s a natural leader it seems - I don’t get all the hate and trade talk honestly. It’s insane to me.

But the way Timmy has been playing this year, and in the last stretch of games is clearly captain shit. No sen has tilted the ice the way he does since karlsson imo. Timmy has been electric. A complete 200 foot game, effort for days.

Regardless of talent and skill, if everyone on the team could put that kind of effort and heart into their play, this team would be a f***in win-wagon.

Would like to see him bury teams a bit more. Put up 4, 5, 6 points in a game. He has been very consistent getting 1 or 2 points almost every game.

Guys like Kucherov, Mac, and McDavid add in those monster games once and a while. Make the night easier on the rest of the team, they don't have to play perfect when your star goes to work.

Would help him push into the top 5-10 scorers as well.

Great picks! Sam Reinhart is another current player that comes to mind. Rantanen was mentioned as well.

Would be fun to see Stutzle and Draisaitl together in international play. Too bad there is no world team at the upcoming 4 nations thing.

why isn't there? feels like they are leaving so much talent that deserves to play the shaft.

maybe they'd be too good? esp vs Finland and Sweden.

Bonkers idea.

Stamkos for Norris. Similar salary/term.

Stammer rides Stutzle's wing and could snipe 30, while playing on PP1.

Pinto replaces Norris with Brady and Batherson. Greig Graduates to 3C.

Stamkos was surrounded with playmaking talent in Tampa where even last year he was a 40-40-80 winger. He's got little support in Nashville and is back to playing centre. Stutzle would bring out the best in him, and Norris would add much needed energy down the middle in Nashville.

Too bonkers for me. Norris is outpacing him already this year and Stamkos is 35 in February.

I hear ya. Thing is, Stamkos scored 40 and was ppg just last year when slotted appropriately. While he isn't pushing the pace, he can keep up, but is no longer a centre and is being forced into the 1C slot at the moment. This isn't quite late stage Giroux we're talking about.

Setting aside his NMC, I wouldn't touch Stamkos' contract.

I like the player in the right role, but not at his current salary, nor at the expense of imo a better player at this point in time. I think TB fans were pretty on point about that one. Elevated partly by being so familiar on a good team, and nowhere near the player he once was. They seemed ready to move on and many said Nashville would regret the signing. Not something I would consider without a bunch of retention and cheaper acquisition cost. I think there's some juice to be squeezed, but not worth the salary or risk for a player like Norris.

Plus, I kind of am enjoying their collapse after all the talk of their tax advantages this summer, with Trotz even acknowledging it. Not their fault, but I'll always root against that and any competitive imbalances it creates.

Stutzle needs someone with a quick release. If we're talking dream team could get anyone then someone like Connor Bedard who is incredibly shifty, good at being in the right place and can receive a pass and get it off his stick fast.

Basically we need someone that's the opposite of Josh Norris. I don't know anyone who's good at quick release and good at getting it off even when off-balance or whatever else.

Not unless Nashville is paying us assets to take on Stamkos.

Norris would be a good fit for them, but even if he got injured, they have assets to make moves and abuse LTIR the way TB and VGS did. We better be getting one of their 3 first round picks back and some other assets.
