I think that is a great job for Jarmo to take. He's actually got the makings of a very good D. Find a goalie, sprinkle in some forwards, he's got a competitive team. I think finding the D is the harder part anyway.

Plus, there's the 3 first round picks.

Barkov to CBJ. If they're anywhere in the top 5 I bet that one's gonna be popular once mock draft season kicks in.

Just saw this really insightful comment on the TSN article. I think it sums it up perfectly:

If he attempts to put a true European style team on the ice, he is going to be in for a shock. Other than that, I can't say a thing about this as I have no idea who this guy is.

From a 1st person perspective Terry Murray is not Peter Chiarelli.

He is HIGHLY overrated and would love to see him head to be GM of the Blue Jackets.. The real man who should be our next GM should be Dorian.

If you ever get the "honor" of meeting Terry Murray in person he is quite the cold character, and absolutely nothing like Bryan. In all honesty he is probably the Cory Clouston of GM's.

I'm just going to point out your Tim/Terry typo to let Bryan's poor brother off the hook.

The only reason I think Tim would have a hard time being a full-time GM is contract negotiations: the guy is such a sourpuss that he might turn everyone off, haha. He'd need to hire an assistant whose best skill is in dealing with people/ player egos, and just let them do all the negotiations.

Otherwise, agree.

He already does all the negotiations...

Id be shocked if he left, even if the job is on the table.

It's like they say, you don't get anywhere in this business doing your player evaluations coldly.

I doubt Tim was actually an option, though. Just Garrioch taking the opportunity to suck up.

Its good that Tim might have been considered but glad he wasn't chosen. We'll need continuity in Ottawa when Bryan decides to hang them up. Tim will slip into the job quite easily.

I agree completely. Terry Murray is no Chiarelli.
