Ticket Exchange 2013-14

But my real question is why do those seats trickle out on the open ticket master site the the days leading up to games... Are they not the very same seats that I am supposed to have access to on the day of the game (ie the ones held in reserve by the Jets). Again, I would like better access to these seats

Fess up Jets fans, who hasn't done this constantly hitting refresh because you heard a rumor seats may get released.

It's not a rumor. They have been releasing seats this way since the 1st season. There is one correlation though. The more Manitobans there are on the visiting team, the less seats are released on game day.

I think the point I am making is that I would rather have complete access to those seats held in reserve than the current exclusive access to Seat Exchange seats. I think SE should be opened up. As a perk SE isn't that great and I can see how it does not benefit Season Ticket Holders who have basically been told this is the only real venue for selling seats for games they can not make.

Are they not the very same seats that I am supposed to have access to on the day of the game (ie the ones held in reserve by the Jets). Again, I would like better access to these seats as I believe is one of the selling points of remaining on the waiting list. But either way, why do the Jets not hold onto these seats and release them at once, rather than requiring people to constantly monitor ticket master in the days leading up to a game

Fess up Jets fans, who hasn't done this constantly hitting refresh because you heard a rumor seats may get released... its pretty silly (although I have been lucky enough to get seats this way in past seasons)

If I was a season ticket holder I would hate the Seat Exchange exclusivity, I agree. I think it's a pretty good perk for wait list members though. Last season I bought probably about 5 games from Seat Exchange, and it was work. Having to sit there and typing in that damn captcha over and over just to hope you get lucky and find a pair was no fun. And then there was the added bonus of basically having to take what you can get when it comes to seats. Now you have the ability to buy seats you actually want, hopefully for games you wanted too.

I don't have the official answer for your question, but I would imagine they trickle in as they're no longer needed to insure that they get sold. There's 1000 tickets in that reserve, correct? That's what I remember from the beginning. If some or most of those are still in use and not being released, would that even be enough per game for it to be enough of a perk for the Wait List instead of Seat Exchange? Probably not.

Long post short, I think the biggest perk Wait List holders now have is the ability to think about your purchase for more than 2 minutes before the tickets disappear, choose seats that fit your budget and preference, and most importantly not have to sit there and refresh until something pops up (for most games).

Mine is time stamped 1:32pm. If you really want to go to a game don't wait for the email. Start looking the night before and the morning of the game.

Waiting for the email would do me no good, I'm not on the wait list ;). I was just curious about the window you were talking about where the general public still had access on game day.

I defiantly feel season ticket holders should have some access to SE. Maybe like 10-15 tickets a year or something I had to trade a pair of tickets to a wait list member to pick up a ticket for a buddy that unexpectedly came to town. As for the SE itself, maybe get rid of the extra fees for the wait list members and open up to public 48 hours before the game with fees.

The Jets make money on those fees so that is not going to happen....It is another revenue stream the team needs to stay profitable

The fees aren't going to go anywhere unless season ticket holders want to just recoup their costs again instead of make a profit. I can't see True North pissing off their ticket holders even more after they've already significantly decreased the market they can sell their tickets in. More and more holders will stop using Seat Exchange if they were to make that move, IMO. The fees aren't all bad, without them there would be a much smaller supply of tickets on there.

And no offense, but I don't exactly feel bad for the season ticket holders who can't get their hands on even more tickets ;)

There are tons of tickets available on seat exchange for a Friday night game in Winnipeg.

If these don't sell, the current system is seriously broken and needs to be opened to the general public.

None taken. How about for season tickets holders, if they put 6 tickets up for sale on SE, they can then purchase 6 tickets from SE. I think this would be fair.

I still think a reduction in fee's would get more wait list members to pick up more seats.

or they could just let those that want to buy tickets buying them.

I'm a nut. I ahve no problem paying an extra 20 bucks a ticket if it means i have a much better chance at getting them.

The problem I have right now is apparently:

seatexchange is sponsored by Visa

TD uses exclusively Visa cards

SeatExchange uses address verification

TD does not....wtf

I finally have someone on the line that MIGHT be able to help but so far all i've gotten is that i may need to open a credit card with another bank....even though both parties are sponsored by the same god damn credit card company....

...

..oh.... and good morning

EDIT: update: apparently NO ONE knows what the **** is going on, and they just don't take Visa Debit, even though i've had 4 different reps assure me they do over the last 24 hours. Holy hell am I mad.

Just a comment on the wait list, most of the people, if they ever get a chance, will balk at coming up with the money for season tickets.

This is Winnipeg. There is a large difference between what people say they want and what they are actually willing to pay.

I had someone approach me with a list of game they wanted to buy. I said ok to the first game on the list and the response was, "I'll think about it". Winnipeg in a nutshell.

Yeah, wow. Agreed. As Metallica says "SAD BUT TRUE".

The "fad" aspect to it all is wearing off too. Finding that as before people would jump to get tickets to ANY game, whereas now they're more selective. To each their own.

I have a pair of tickets to the Blues game next Friday. Seats are back to front (one in front of the other) Section 304, Row 1 & 2, Seat 18.

I also posted them on Seat eXchange but if you PM me I can take them down from there and I'd round the price down to 90$ ea. as opposed to the face value of 93.75$, of course you'd also save the Ticket Master Seat eXchange fees.

Looking for 2 tickets to the Leafs vs Winnipeg on Jan, 25, 2014 if anyone has a pair they are looking to sell

Question: I am on the waitlist. Am I able to purchase tickets from seat exchange, Save a PDF version of the tickets and e-mail them to friends? or can you only pick them up at will-call or can they only be transferred between those who have Jets accounts??

thanks.

Hey people. Ive got one ticket in section 311 row 6 for sale for the Dallas game tomorrow, face value ($80). If interested pm me.

You can do that. Or, once you bought them, you can transfer them to another Jets account. It would be very simple for your friend to make a Jets account if they don't have one already.

I did this for the Ducks game when I bought extra tickets, worked like a charm. And I came out looking like a hero.;)

Obviously the system is flawed. I said yesterday we had 57 listings for tomorrow's game. Now there is 70. We refuse to pay $219 a seat for P2's. That's what it looks like at least. Now of course this includes the convenience fee, the transfer fee, the seller fee and the other fee. P2's cost the season ticket holder $119.50 Good luck with that.

You can save the PDFs and email them to someone else to print or you can transfer them through your Jets account. I've done both. Just when you buy them don't select the Will Call option.

Wow, this selling tickets system is ****ed now. Way to go TNSE...

Hard to move tickets now. not sure if the demand has dropped or if they just limited supply to a smaller group of people? I haven't looked at what adjustments they have made but it is causing problems for my group to sell inventory.

As a season ticket holder who is out of town most of the time, this system sucks! I will NOT be renewing next year if the TNSE does not open SE to the public. Complete Garbage

theres even pairs on ticketmaster standing still for the game tommorow night. not a good sign

Thanks and also appreciation to hockeyann.

As a waitlist member I was able to purchase seats for Devils and tranfer to friends. even the same section as my season tickets as the selection is so good.

As I mentioned months ago the waitlist is really a VIP ticket club. For those in business and on the waitlist clients and associates will rarely be without tickets. I am a STH and bought into the wailist for my kids and the ability to pluck additonal tickets for family, friends and business associates.

I think the Jets should sell various levels of team memberships. (gold) $75 yearly memberships to access seat exchange seats. These seats would be available 48 hours after waitlist members did not purchase tickets listed on the exchange. (silver) $50 memberships available to purchase tickets 48 hours after the previous ticketing group did not purchase. $25 (bronze)membership for another 48 hours and then general public.

All fans should be able to accumulate "Jets Reward Points" The money that you spend on Jets shwag at Jets Gear earns points /$$$ towards your membership.

If you are a bronze member but spend $75.00 at Jets Gear you earn 75 points towards a silver or gold membership.

I see far too many seats available on Seat Exchange. For my $100 waitlist membership it is awesome as the demand appears to be so low but from a business perspective for TNSE this looks flawed.

thoughts?? wrong thread???

I know all my house guests will be treated to Jets games this season. No problem to get seats.

Since you asked for thoughts, I think that's getting way too greedy on True North's part. At least the money you're spending on the wait list memberships can eventually be applied to tickets, but the idea of them charging admission for seat exchange on top of all the fees leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The system last year was great, ticket holders had a pretty good incentive to use the system and buyers had a good shot at tickets if they were persistent, but I do think that wait list members needed something extra. If they ever did move to a model like the one you're describing I think I would stick to Ticketmaster/whatever tickets I can get off friends and family.

I think the least complicated solution that benefits all parties the most is probably some sort of exclusive wait list member window and after that it's a free for all. Depending on what happens with all those tickets for tomorrows game, I wouldn't be surprised if that's implemented sooner than later.
