Thunderbirds 2024 25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I'm wondering if Fischer or another defenseman slots into a forward slot or if they play 11-7. Last I checked, we were missing four potential top-six forwards (Kaskimaki, Robertsson, Peterson, and Dean) for Springfield...or am I mistaken?
Peterson returned tonight.

Big question....how did Stancl look? I would definitely say he will do well at this level. He was overwhelmed a bit by the pace, but I see him taking it head on. Set up Stenberg for a beautiful feed, but the puck hopped on him. He needs to get the junior hockey standing around thing and the giving people too much space to operate thing out of his system. He seems to be able to play all parts of the game. Defensively and offensively, he put in the effort. I think that it was good to play a defensive role for Czechia as he fits right in. He just needs to pick it up and close the gaps on his opposition. Definitely going to need him as Luff went down with an injury. Didn't look good....

They mentioned that Buchinger is back and will play this weekend. I hope some of the defense will take offensive shifts. Not having Dvo really hurts. It would be awesome if Snuggy volunteered to go down to Springfield or they send Dvo down ASAP. They only dressed 11 forwards and lost one.

I really would like to see the Blues bring back Peca, MacMac, and Skinner along with Schunemann next year. My picks anyway....

Loof had a great game. He is the anchor for his offensive partner and he just times his hits so well. I still think he has an NHL future. He has grown handling the puck and making outlet passes. If Tucker went down, then I wouldn't be afraid to bring him up as third pair sandpaper and penalty kill. St Louis will love him.

What a game by Peterson! If they don't resign Faksa, then I could see him contributing on the 4th line. He hits. He defends. Gets under people's skin. Kills penalties. Blocks shots. I like the kid.

Stenberg continues to look very solid as a player. Points will come. I do see a cerebral Steen type player. I think he will produce more around "better" players. Not an insult, but guys are in the AHL for a reason. McGing simply struggles to catch a pass or not lose the puck handling it. Dickinson is better playing without his stick. Guys are there for a reason.

Snuggy is not eligible to play Springfield this season. He would have had to sign ATO and start contract next year like Stancl did.

Gotcha. Didn’t know that.

Another thing I like about Stancl…. He doesn’t “circle” forechecking. He stops and starts forcing the defender to make a play. Lazy players circle.

Last night was the Colten Ellis show as he stopped 38 of 40 shots. He is mortal after 36 of 36 Friday. He reminds me of a regular season Cujo. Just a wall in goal. Hopefully, he isn't a playoff Cujo.... Peterson scored a between the legs goal battling in front of the net (got to see the highlight) and just continues to be a nuisance to play against. I don't think much of the new defenseman they added Calen Addison. He coughs up the puck too much. I much prefer Johanneson for your offensive defenseman. First line of Alexandrov, Peca, and MacMac continues to be a two way dominant threat. Stenberg again played very well in all 3 zones and special teams. Nothing to show for it, but contributing to the W. He anticipates very well. They had Stancl playing with Dickinson. He is adjusting to the pace, but I think he played well. The window is much shorter to make decisions in the AHL. He will find his groove. The talent is there. Just needs to play quicker. They didn't get much ice time in the 3rd period as they were trying to bring the magic number to 8. I think Providence beat Hartford making the magic number 6 according to the telecast.
