I think all of these deals help each team and fits needs for each roster. Changed the deals slightly to reflect feedback given in the thread.

1) I dont want to retain on Rielly.Would just do Rielly at 7.5M for a 4th vs getting a 2nd

2) Woll + Benoit for Zellweger is fine

3) Carlo + Robertson cap wise works to like 6M (3.5M Carlo plus Robertson likely at 2.5M). Not sure the Stars want to take that much capspace even if they are clearing Lyubshkins deal

But overall the names mentioned are pretty common and potential targets linked to the leafs with out going players being similarly dangled in fan proposals. I expect we get a fair bit of the below group this summer (not all but I expect we end with 3 or 4 of the 6 below)

Raddysh
Zellweger
Drury
Bourque
Hayton
Kesselring

Anaheim is going to want more than Woll and Benoit for Zellweger. I don't see how those 2 players would be of any interest to them.
Woll is a 1b tandem guy who the ducks could definitely use. Benoit is a cheap and physical bottom pair LD who can provide good depth for the ducks.

This is bad for Dallas. You are sending them more cap.

They need cap space to sign Robertson so they would trade Lyub to create cap space. They don’t know on Seguin and LTIR.

I would not accept Rielly. I certainly would not accept paying anything for Rielly.

The Ducks already tried out Benoit for 100+ games. There's a reason they moved on from him. They're also very deep at LD.

Woll could probably be had far cheaper than Zell.

No thanks

Why does Anaheim do thisL

Leafs wont need to retain more then 10% to get a 3rd round pick in value, that just silly. Ducks need a 1b goaltender and Benoit can play well on the bottom pair. Regarding the Dallas trade the value is fair but yes maybe to much cap going to the stars.

Beniot already has been let go by the Anaheim regime. I doubt they want him back. Woll and a 3rd would be fair but Anaheim likely finds better offers elsewhere.

They could sign players to fill those roles. No need to trade a player with Zellweger's upside for them.
Buffalo has 4 goalies under contract for next year that aren’t waiver exempt.

Lyon is more than half Woll salary and only 1 yr. Thry have Ellis and Levi who are near league min.

What has Zellweger done aside from being a 7th D on one of the worst defensive teams in the league to warrant that return?

He's 22 and has played 2 full season in the NHL. I'd say that alone is a feather in his cap. He's also very much an offensive defenseman so not sure how his teams defense should be his cross to bear. Have you watched him? He has his warts, but the offensive upside is obvious if you've spent any time watching him.

Also, 7th D is disingenuous. How to you get to play 76 games as the 7th D?

He played 76 games this year. He wasn't a 7th D, he got scratched fewer times than Mintyukov, Helleson, Moore, etc..

And if being on a bad defensive team devalues the guys in the D corps, then we need to apply that same argument when Leafs fans claim a bunch of their D should each be worth a 1st.

In all fairness, 1 of those games was as a forward

Cool so he's Connor Timmins. Not trading Woll + for that

ducks already had Benoit, don't think they're interested in bringing him back. woll is a fine backup, but i think we could get more value from zell than a mid pick and a backup goalie and a defenseman we dont need

Everything on the Leafs roster outside of Matthews, Nylander, Tavares and Knies can be found on the open UFA market.

They have nothing to offer anyone that can't be found for free.

Their best strategy would be to move on from Matthews and Nylander and signal a massive rebuild.

Amazing how confidently incorrect you are.
