OT: Thread About Nothing (part # who cares)

This is not ok...

I’m at 169k on a 2010 RAV4. 75k is like a brand new car lol.

I think I had 75k back in like 2016. I’ve been putting fewer and fewer miles on it every year since 2021. I did have to drive across the street for the hurricane last year and when the Devils play in Sunrise.

If I had a car and had to drive around everywhere, I probably would have died from a road rage incident about a decade ago. I know I’d be the type of person who mouths off to the wrong guy and instantly gets a face full of lead. Living in NYC is expensive as hell, but it has its perks.

I feel like the last 2 years I remember saying.... "I don't remember the summer being this hot". And I say that again.

Or maybe it's just shifting. Of course we've had these kinds of temperatures, but I feel like they were usually in July and August.

but hey, don't look up.

EDIT: I'm also timing my errands to try and only leave once today. I'm actually going to the gym just to walk on the treadmill, since i'll die from sun blisters if i try to do 30 minutes around my neighborhood.

Update: office AC is out of commission for about an hour, effective at a quarter to noon. I’m posting this from the grocery store around the corner, with working AC and a cold brew coffee.

I feel like ever since they moved my department to Queens, HQ has been jerking us around. Even though my team gained two members (one of which was an old team member who came back from bereavement leave) to offset the two that left, I still need at least one more and I see no evidence that seat is getting filled. We transferred from one software system to another, which we did need, but the new system wasn’t ready from the start and I’d argue there are more problems now. I don’t think the engineering team takes us seriously since we aren’t in the same building anymore. And there are other problems that were there before the move, like a month-end period where it gets hard to request time off, and how I have to request vacation time a month in advance because of asshole team members who took advantage of the previous two-week window.

Honestly, money isn’t the issue here, but I’m not being paid enough to deal with this. Oh, and they also haven’t given us word on our annual pay bump, so that’s another issue. Might as well start checking around, because I don’t see this disconnect getting better.
