Flying to Punta Cana Saturday. Once I get back it will probably be my last flight for some time. Three of my best friends are ATC and a captain. They are saying they are getting absurd communications and random firings or reassignments, in a field that’s already understaffed. I foresee many blemishes happening in every sector that is currently being stripped down in order for it to be privatized in the future, not just aviation.

Crazy. I'm not a big fan of flying to begin with, I know I have a better chance of dying driving but at least I'm in control of the vehicle. I only fly a few times a year though. If its basically under 17 hours I'd rather just drive lol

I actually fly a lot, I do 3 to 4 trips a year. Currently at 25 countries, but I am also paranoid as an Operations Consultant. I currently work on some airport contracts along with my Energy sector contracts and everything is a shit show right now. I will wait a year when things stabilize for my next trip.

Flying is and will always be the safest form of travel. All the current tragic events this year doesn’t have to do with the attempt of trimming down the federal government. But I do know small aviation incidents and near misses have skyrocketed over the past two years due to a very understaffed and overworked aviation sector. In the uncertain waters we are currently in, these incidents will increase if the goal of transitioning to a more privatized country continues. History has shown us that. It will be messy when these transitions take place.

What did Bratt get?

Aarzu in Freehold has to be the best Indian I ever had. Pricey but definitely worth it. Took my gf here for Vday. We got the Bhatti ka paneer, butter chicken and eggplant chaat

Mate, we have some of the best curry houses in the world here in Britain, but I have to say that that does look f***ing banging.

Lamb bhuna is my favourite.

I like Hershey a lot but it's just too far to go there and back in the same day and thats the main reason I go to great adventure a lot, it's just super convenient and for the cost of their season pass I really don't have any complaints. I have season passes for the year that are way cheaper than one higher priced tier Devils game lol

I still want to check out the American Dream Mall Nick Universe theme park but haven't gotten there yet even though it's even closer than Great Adventure.
The Nickelodeon Universe park and the Dreamworks Water Park are both good, but since they're indoors they feel smaller. Plus, being with kids when I went to them meant that I couldn't go on the rides.

I’ve been looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook’s gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein

How would one describe Zevon to those who never heard him or have any idea of who he was?

He was born in Big Beaver by the borderline
He started playing hockey by the time he was nine
His dad took the hose and froze the back yard
And Little Buddy dreamed he was Rocket Richard
He grew up big and he grew up tough
He saw himself scoring for the Wings or Canucks
But he wasn't that good with a puck

Buddy's real talent was beating people up
His heart wasn't in it but the crowd ate it up
Through pee-wee's and juniors, midgets and mites
He must have racked up more than six hundred fights
A scout from the flames came down from Saskatoon
Said, "There's always room on our team for a goon
Son, we've always got room for a goon"

There were Swedes to the left of him
Russians to the right
A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight
Brains over brawn-that might work for you
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do
What else can a farm boy from Canada to do
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do
What else can a farm boy from Canada to do

Hit somebody! was what the crowd roared
When Buddy the goon came over the boards
"Coach, " he'd say, "I wanna score goals"
The coach said, "Buddy, remember your role
The fast guys get paid, they shoot, they score

Protect them, Buddy, that's what you're here for
Protection is what you're here for
Protection-it's the stars that score
Protection-kick somebody's ass
Protection-don't put the biscuit in the basket just
Hit some, Buddy! it rang in his ears
Blood on the ice ran down through the years
The king of the goons with a box for a throne
A thousand stitches and broken bones
He never lost a fight on his icy patrol
But deep inside, Buddy only dreamed of a goal
He just wanted one damn goal

There were Swedes at the the blue line
Finns at the red
A Russian with a stick heading straight for his head
Brains over brawn-that might work for you
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do
What else can a farm boy from Canada to do
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do
What else can a farm boy from Canada to do

In his final season, on his final night
Buddy and a Finn goon were pegged for a fight
Thirty seconds left, the puck took a roll
And suddenly Buddy had a shot on goal

The goalie committed, Buddy picked his spot
Twenty years of waiting went into that shot
The fans jumped up, the Finn jumped too
And coldcocked Buddy on his follow through
The big man crumbled but he felt all right
'Cause the last thing he saw
was the flashing red light
He saw that heavenly light

There were Swedes to the left of him
Russians to the right
A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight
Take care of your teeth-that might work for you
But what's a Canadian farm boy to do
What else can a farm boy from Canada to do

Looks pretty good! My family background is Indian, so I’m often picky about Indian restaurants. But judging from these pictures, I would eat there.

I love eggplant chaat too. I had some at a place in NYC a few years ago, and I liked it so much that I tried to replicate the recipe at home. It came out pretty good. Maybe I’ll post a picture of it later.

I definitely want to see it! The candied ginger in Aarzus eggplant chaat was crack. We had to order a second one

It sure was nice when the foster baby slept through the night. Now she wakes up crying twice a night. As a result, I find myself getting tired throughout the day at work. My office is around the corner from a grocery store, so I buy one or two big containers of cold brew coffee from there a week, and those have been getting good mileage lately.

Also my wife will not stop buying stuff from a particular clothing brand. Admittedly, the fabric is very soft and they have cute designs, but it ain't cheap.

My company that consults in Energy, Aviation, Education, Health Care and many Federal Programs has been getting hit hard. Our Stock down 40% in 3 months. People getting laid off. I have to make tough decisions on who I can transition over. Very hard times for a lot of folks and I think many people are not aware of these things happening until it happens to them or a loved one. I really hope things stabilize and rebound soon. But I have a feeling the worst is yet to come.

I have a friend who believes that there’s going to be a big wrongful termination lawsuit that will end in favor of the victimized. I hope that’s the case. Regardless, I am not an optimist during the best of times, and I sure as hell ain’t one now. My reaction is to just live life the best that I can.

The SS United States finally leaving Philly to be sunk in the Gulf of America.

I go to a lot of Phillies games even though I am a Yanks fan. I love their ballpark and my tradition was going to Johns Roast Pork before each game. We’d park in the Lowes/Ikea lot which always gave a a great view of the ocean liner. It will be a vastly different background when I go in a few months.

Oh and Everyone should try the Roast Pork at Johns. It’s incredible
