I don't mind the doneness. I often order a pizza a little extra crispy...I didn't this time, this is how it came. But I heard so many good things about this place, I figured I should try it since I only live about 10 minutes away.

The building is super cool and they have awesome long bar that has a great old school vibes...the staff seems like they have all been there for 50 years and they were all incredibly nice. I got there around 3:30 and my wife and I were the only people there. Cool place, I would go to hang out and have a beer and pizza again...just the hype didn't match the product in my honest opinion... that's not to say it was bad...it was just run of mill in my opinion.
Head to most pizza places in the south and you’d be crying for NY/NJ run of the mill.

I've found over the years that it's not just pizza or Italian, bagels and bakeries that taste better up there than points south. The same thing goes for Chinese food. I don't know why.

Of course I'm sure BBQ tastes better down south than up north. And while I think there was great Mexican/Latin food up in Jersey, I've found that it's not at all bad where I live.

I don't notice much of a drop off in Mexican/Latin food here from up home, but it's very noticeable in pizza, Italian and Chinese.

Pizza and Italian isn't as bad in Florida as it probably is in Georgia, Alabama or the Carolinas, as there's a lot of transplants from up north that moved down here to open pizza places. And plenty of the transplants are satisfied with some of the pizza places here.

Speaking of pizza, my favorite place I've gone to for over 30 years recently sold their business. Tony D's in Westwood, I talked to the owner Mario over the summer about eventually selling but he wasn't sure if it would happen. It's going to remain a pizza place which was the one stipulation upon selling but I don't think he fully gave up his specific recipes for all their awesome food, I get it but it's unfortunate. I haven't checked it out yet with the new owners so we'll see.

By me there is not only a great food tradition but there is an Italian food tradition that is part of it but pizza didn’t get the memo. There is one decent place in my entire suburb. There is one excellent and one decent Chinese restaurant.
