I have seen enough of Eller and Raddysh as a pair. They do nothing positive on the ice pass the center line.

They're trying. They just don't have very many consistently effective or slippery attackers. When they're going collectively they can feed off of one another but...this...isn't that. Too choppy. Not enough support or pace.

Ovechkin's trying to up the physical tone but it's not much of a substitute for on-puck dynamism. Nor do they have enough consistently smart offensive players. There's, what, PLD? Protas? Maybe Sandin? It's a short list of guys that aren't fairly easily contained most of the time in a 1v1 sense.

Without more consistent work ethic and complimentary habits their limitations really start to show.
