Thoughts on Karlsson so far?

Best offensive defenseman of his generation, and on a decent team such as this, he is so great transitionally that his lines possess the puck and it limits his defensive "shortcomings." The best defense is a good offense.

I have not always liked what I have seen in the Powerplay, but that is mostly attributable to the other guys.

I'm convinced that EK was a great acquisition!

Guy is a gamer, and really has helped the D overall. Letang isn't running himself ragged and is making better plays (ignoring the SH clearing attempt gaff against Buffalo). Petts has brought his game up a notch.

Having a 1-2 punch like Letang/EK is awesome to watch!

The only knock I can see is he came to fix the PP which hasn't happened yet :\.

Honestly like our D overall.

That's pretty much the consensus. Most of us here are all about the rebuild. Sid, Geno, and Letang aren't leaving unless they ask out. Anything else not nailed down has a for sale sign on it.

The thing with EK is everyone knows how good he is and will still be for the rest of his contract. His play just doesn't work in our stupid coaches system, but that goes for most players..

At the end of the day, we aren't in a rush to move him. It's going to take a solid offer to get him, especially if we are retaining

No. They did get Desharnais from Vancouver in the Marcus Petterrsson trade.

I think he will ultimately get traded this summer when the cap goes up. It's not happening at the deadline I don't think.

That's not how we do things in Pittsburgh.

We prefer the "stand around looking like a deer in the headlights" approach to crease maintenance.

There is literally no pipeline in Pittsburgh outside of Pickering
