Thoughts about the 2030 NHL Entry Draft?

I have high hopes in general for that era of draft classes. Technology and coaching have improved exponentially and there seems to be more a shift back to “do what you want in their blue line, but you’re playing defense my way in our end”. Which breeds creativity and athleticism. These kids had endless time to hone their stick skills during COVID as well and for the more well off, skating as well.

Like, we really are in the golden age of hockey. I wish there was more hate like the days of yore, call him what you want but Rempe brings fans into the arena.

As far as names, most these kids haven’t even hit bantam yet. A couple years and we will hear of one prodigal prospect, I’m sure of it.

The 2011s are actually Bantam Minor. It isn’t outrageous to discuss this age. Dupont thread was started at the same age.

2030 is the furthest out draft for which I have started adding names to my watchlist. The players are: Jack Allgood, Jett Evans, Chase Hutter, Ian Kim, Jordan Labelle, Kale Nicol, and Emmett Rumbold.

I get that, and honestly at this age there will be more than end up like Sean Day than McDavid.

About the Europeans.
I'll start with the Czechs, who I've researched more for obvious reasons. The 2030 draft will not be the best for the Czech Republic compared to the previous 2029 (just look at names like Zelezny, Vik, Holy, Hromek, Richter, Stavicek) and the following 31 (Jan Kotlar, A. Kachlir, M. Rejthar, M. Rocek, O. Holecek). I don't even see any guaranteed first-rounders for the 30 draft yet. However, some players can rise quite high. First of all, I'll note the defensemen: Yaroslav Kornilov (Sparta system) plays in a league with guys a year and a half older and shows results similar to forwards. Tadeas Olesz (Vitkovice-11) is another first-class defenseman growing up in the Czech hockey system. Rostislav Olesz's son, unlike his famous father, chose the defender's role. I would also like to mention another defenseman, Miroslav Vavřina. Among the forwards, M. Hanzal-jr., I. Kruzik, J. Jindra, M. Slanec may join the ranks.
The Slovaks are in a similar situation. Their group of top players for the next draft (31) (J. Kral, A. Kristofik, K. Hecko, L. Hestera) looks, in my opinion, somewhat stronger than the leaders of the draft discussed in this thread. And the draft a year earlier (29) will be even more attractive for the Slovaks - there is simply a scattering of talents there (Melicherik, Tomastik, Hornak, Vaksmansky). But there will also be someone to watch at the draft-30. Such names as O. Polievka, S. Antos, S. Bentara, R. Huna may be successful.
Russia will offer great forwards for the first round of this draft: L. Gribov (may be in the top 5), A. Tarasenko, R. Kovalchuk). The second tier includes such guys as defensemen F. Kryuchkov, K. Dautov, T. Asyukov, forwards K. Yelovikov, D. Malygin, D. Fomin.
The Swedes have an undisputed leader O. Salts. Recently, E. Herrlin has caught up with him. Other interesting Swedish names for the draft-30: G. Wennberg, S. Klingzell, N. Huang, O. Roynezon, A. Begic, S. Blom.
Finland. They won't have the same superstar as the year before (J. Nyberg), but guys like W. Huuskonen, L. Nabb, K. Kaltakari could well make it into the top 50. The second tier will be R. Wei, L. Posa, H. Joenniemi.
Germany. Max Penkin's brother Danny Penkin may prove to be no less talented.
The Swiss stand out for Liam Bosshard.
It is also necessary to continue to keep an eye on the Japanese Torataro Horie.

Are Kovalchuk and Tarasenko related to the NHL stars by the same name?

RJ Celebrini, but so far he hasn't stood out from his peers the way the others have. Obviously there's tons of time, and he will have all the tools to succeed, so you never know.
